Template talk:Author missing

It looks like this template is not correctly adding the category to the pages it is included in. Can someone take a look at that? --Waldir ^talk 11:56, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

Actually, I figured out it does add the category, but since it is hidden it doesn't show up. Perhaps hidden cats shouldn't be 100% hidden to avoid misunderstandings like this. en.wikipedia for example shows them separately, after the text "Hidden Categories:". Perhaps this was discussed here on commons and it was decided to keep them hidden, but mabe people should have a way to choose what they prefer (in the preferences, typically). Ok, my bad... it is indeed possible to choose whether the hidden cats are visible or not (as I suspected while writing my previous message, actually). Perhaps these comments can help other people who happen to follow the same line of thought in the future. --Waldir ^talk 12:09, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

Layout update and highlighting the key message

I also propose to change the layout a bit. It has become common that Media cleanup templates are looking a bit different today. At least like:

This file has no author information! Please edit this file's description and provide an author.

or like {{No documentation}}

This template currently has no relevant documentation. Any editor familiar with the purpose and usage of this template is requested to write some documentation.

As this template is used within the Template:Information, the big boxes aren’t a thing. For the highlight, you should directly discuss that issue at the translation wiki, as this template includes the texts for all of the supported languages there. -- kind regards, 32X (talk) 16:27, 20 June 2023 (UTC)
