About me

My name is Yossi Ran. I live in Haifa, Israel. I studied chemistry at Tel Aviv University and after twenty-two years working in the chemical industry I switched to software engineering at the College of Management. Since then I have worked in knowledge-intensive industries in the fields of computing and medical equipment with specialization in spectral tomography and image quality.

In parallel with my work, I studied photography. I am a fan of fringe theater. I wrote some plays in Hebrew. I contribute photos from my travels around the world to Google Maps. My photos on the map have been viewed over forty million times. In 2007 I set up a blog where I share experiences of theater, music, literature, poetry and other cultural matters.

In March 2022 I joined an editing course on Wikipedia.
