Joey Rhodes President of the Bell 47 Helicopter Association Inc since 2001. Rhodes is also one of the stars of The New Whirlybirds a tribute to The Whirlybirds TV Series 1956-60. Rhodes was a pioneer and Captain in the collegiate Karate instruction and developed full contact martial arts through his tournaments, clinics, and camps. He was the Fifth Degree Black Belt President of The Illinois Bushidokan and founder of the United States Karate style "Bushidokan." Rhodes is the CEO of New Whirlybirds Inc a helicopter brokerage. Rhodes is a former Mayor, law enforcement officer, police commissioner, and civic leader. Rhodes is a Nashville Recording Artist and Songwriter with eleven songs released nationally. Rhodes help found and performed with the southern gospel quartet - Fortress. Rhodes earned his BS. Ed and MS. Ed from Eastern Illinois University and is a retired school administrator and educator and certified as a Learning Behavioral Specialist as well as several supervisory endorsements. Rhodes received his Leadership Certification from Harvard University Graduate School of Education in 1995 and was an on campus member of The Harvard Principals Center in Cambridge, MA. Rhodes was a licensed lay speaker inn 1981 with the United Methodist Church and was later ordained in 1995. Rhodes is a graduate of the Bible Institute of the Evangelical Church Alliance of Bradley, IL.
