Who am I?

My name is Mark Baldwin-Smith and I'm a Wikimedian specializing in making freely available, high quality maps from public data. I disclose my personal name here to make my work more appropriate for use in academic publications.

Why am I here?

I'm here because there's a lot of valuable, untapped public data and not enough people able, or willing, to map it.

Commissions

I do accept requests and commissions. I do not accept money for requests made through Wikimedia and require that all requested work be shared under a Creative Commons license. If you would like a map made for a Wikipedia article or to illustrate your own work, and you are happy for it to be in the public domain, get in touch.

Licensing

Unless otherwise stated, all of the material that I produce for Wikimedia is published under a CC BY-SA 3.0 license: meaning, you can share and adapt my work as long as you attribute me by name.
