One picture (or video) does not necessarily say more than a thousand words, but it certainly helps to better comprehend information, to get an idea of the context of a place, object or activity – that's what I'm trying to do here, give a better overview of object or phenomenon, show places, structures etc in their environment.
I find that authors should add their media in commons to wiki articles, otherwise they're using it as a cloud repository and that's just wasteful.
