Source/copyvio tagging
editHi, and thanks for your efforts to clean up our file description pages. Please note that you generally shouldn't be adding a source to the page, as that is the responsibility of the uploader. There could be multiple copies of the same image floating around on the Internet, so you don't want to mislead people into thinking that the uploader necessarily got it from your link. Instead, you should insert it as a parameter of the {{Copyvio}} template. Additionally, copyvio only applies when it can be proven that the uploader stole the image from the Internet. So do not use it if the Commons version predates or is larger than the version you find online, since they could not have gotten it from that site. King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 07:35, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
