File:Banska-Bystrica-Pope-John-Paul-II-plaque.jpg

Hi. I think that the user meant to categorize the image with respect to the year, carved on the stone, and not the year of taking the photography. It is the event of placing the plaque that is worth criterion for categorization, rather than the date of taking the shot. That's why I return the previous year, 2003. Bank of Ireland,Belfast

Many thanks for this delightful portfolio.I see that the light was fading when you'd finished the excellent overview (which could be usefully repeated as time change)of shops in Lisburn. Any chance of another visit.I would especially like a series of the Nichol bronze and the stunning Angel on the war memorial.I have other wants too, eg. Crozier in Bannbridge and the War memorial in Ward Park Bangor.Do you use the Ulster Architectural Society publications to find hidden gems? I have a notion some are on the web. All the best Notafly (talk) 14:11, 26 March 2011 (UTC) I see you focused on Sinclairs on North Street as well.As you see I haven't visited you page for some months.I spend quite a time with some pics so it will be a while before I get to the end.Notafly (talk) 14:20, 26 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Geograph files

When removing {{Uncategorized-Geograph}} from files, can you try to ensure meaningful categories are applied? The Uncategorized template both enables bots to locate the file (which makes future bot runs to improve categorisation possible), and because it contains the grid square info ties the image to a specific 1km square area (which enables a decent standard of localisation).

Edits like this are not particularly helpful at all, as instead of knowing the image is of Category:Barra (as its NF7006), all that can be worked out from the description is that its in Scotland. That will make "proper" categorisation of that image much harder.--Nilfanion (talk) 10:22, 8 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Holywood

Hi Ardfern I need a distant photo of Holywood without any clear view of modern buildings.Maybe from the Exchange Side and showing the spire. Really an isn't Ireland nice? pic from the world that never was. It's for the top of this page [2] See him on Wiki[3]. Any chance? Best regards Robert Notafly (talk) 14:05, 26 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Littleham

Hi,

Please note Category:Littleham is "Littleham is a village and civil parish in North Devon". The files you have been moving from Category:Exmouth, Devon are all in East Devon - for an entirely seperate Littleham. Please stop further moves like this, thanks.--Nilfanion (talk) 16:21, 22 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Location categories.

Hi,

Please note that this image - File:Fields near East Bridge Farm - geograph.org.uk - 697796.jpg is not of Bulkworthy. Its clearly in the neighbouring Newton St Petrock parish.

Likewise File:RJ's Cafe, Aller, Newton Abbot, Devon - geograph.org.uk - 77911.jpg is in Aller - which is part of Kingskerswell not Coffinswell.

If the location category is GeographBot's best guess, it may be reasonable to change it if wrong. However, if a human has manually located it, do not just change it without thinking about why they have placed it there.-Nilfanion (talk) 15:35, 30 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Aviation Wikiproject on Commons?

Hey mate, I've had an idea of starting an Aviation WikiProject on Commons. I have created a page at User talk:Russavia/Proposal where I hope that if other editors think this is a good idea, we can all come up with ideas, etc. Please keep all comments on that page for time being, and if you know of other editors on Commons or on other language projects who might be interested in commenting, coming up with ideas, etc, please let them know of the discussion. Let's see if this could be a workable project. russavia (talk) 12:41, 27 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
