Files not uploaded yet

edit

File:Gera Höhlermuseum.jpg and File:Gera Gladitsch-Turm.jpg were not yet uploaded (pages were created 19 February ca. 18:00) - what went wrong? --Steffen Löwe Gera (talk) 23:11, 20 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

File:Jack Wilshere vs west Brom.jpg was also not uploaded yet. The page was created in August 2008. I think there is something wrong. --Wikijunkie (talk) 02:59, 2 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

FlickreviewR

edit

Hi, please could you add to the user page for the FlickreviewR bot some indication of the schedule of bot runs. I added an image yesterday and it is currently still showing as not yet reviewed. It's not urgent but it would be nice to know. Many thanks. Alan012 (talk) 15:52, 22 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Flickr issues

edit

I attempted to upload a picture of Siouxsie Sioux using your Flickr bot while I was logged in, but by the time I was redirected back to the Commons page, I was inexplicably logged out and the file was attributed to my IP address. As if things couldn't get worse, the image never uploaded, even though I clicked on the link in the template to complete the upload, but instead I got a 504 time out error message. What is going on? --Whip it! Now whip it good! 00:21, 6 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Problem with image

edit

Tried couple of times but doesnt upload token 40964 File:Alfa Romeo 1938 8C 2900B Berlinetta - John Shirley AD.jpg --Typ932 (talk) 10:33, 9 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

this is sorted now, the image had some html code with it... --Typ932 (talk) 08:32, 13 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Decrease upload time

edit

The time it takes for an image to upload from flickr is pathetic. I went through the process, entered the link to the image, saw the image with the information for me to confirm it's all right, and for about half an hour, all that appeared was the description page. It takes an unreasonable amount of time for the image to upload. There should be some kind of warning about how long it takes bc I thought it failed to upload and tried to do it again. Please correct this as this has happened with several images I've uploaded. Jonjames1986 (talk) 03:57, 18 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

replag graphs

edit

Hi Bryan. About these graphs, is the code available somewhere? I'm interested in how the graphs are made from the data, not in how the data are computed. Is it a standard graphics library you're using? If so, would you point me to it? Thanks a lot. Regards, --Eusebius (talk) 15:45, 21 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Justina Robson.jpg

edit

Hi - the Flickr upload bot has not uploaded File:Justina Robson.jpg for about a day now. Maybe there is something wrong with the upload code? Thanks, Sandstein (talk) 06:32, 24 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Upload limit

edit

Hello Brian, the bot says I've reached my upload limit, does it mean I cant't use it anymore? -- Darwin Ahoy! 08:40, 8 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ok, I've now seen the 24 per hour limit, which is quite reasonable. But I wonder if you could open a temporary exception for the next few hours? -- Darwin Ahoy! 08:45, 8 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

DR bot

edit

Bryan, just a note to let you know I have asked Lupo if he would be prepared to look into the continuing problems as I understand you may not have the time. --MichaelMaggs (talk) 19:21, 12 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

about deletion of many pictures

edit

Dear Brian,

I'm a little concerned about the growing trend some pictures I've posted on wikipedia are nominated for deletion. I'm owning the full right to publish them : I'm the author of those pictures and my editor (J Wiley/ ISTE) allowed me to publish them. Moreover, these pictures have been (for most of them), already reused with permission of the author, in many universities works around the world.

Pictures are the following :

  • Kanban_principles.jpg (nominated for deletion)
  • Evolution ordinateur.jpg
  • RoadmapNanoInfo2020.jpg

Thanks for having a look on this issue.

With Kind Regards JBW

if you have any doubt, please email me. I will return you the complete evidence I'm the authentic author.

(Later)

Dear Brian,

I think everythings seems to be ok with the pictures I have mentionned above. Are these pictures duplcations ? anyway, Ifound the articles with the pictures still here although I've got this curious email this evening : "Dear Jbw,

flickr hepler error

edit

Hello, Bryan. When I uploaded a lot of images via your flickr hepler, I got a message that I hit the limit and should you ask a permission for exemption. However I got it way back ago.[1] Is it an error or did you set up a new regulation? Thanks.--Caspian blue 01:51, 13 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Flickr upload failed

edit

Hi,

first let me thank you for such a great tool as your flickr upload bot. However, I'd like to report two images from flickr which failed automatic upload into wikimedia. Those are: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:2008_LPGA_Championship_-_Minea_Blomqvist_1.jpg and http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:2007_LPGA_Championship_-_Jee_Young_Lee_1.jpg . Please help. Thank, Wmigda (talk) 21:46, 16 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hello Bryan!

Is your bot on holiday? Or went on strike? ;-) --Knopfkind (talk) 21:09, 24 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

It was down because I had to copy the database. It should be up again very soon. -- Bryan (talk to me) 21:36, 25 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Talk page cleanup

edit

I moved most things about flickr to the archives and the feature requests to User talk:Bryan/Flickr wishlist. Basically I'm aware of some major flaws, including the fact that uploads may take up to 24 hours, but basically I don't have the time for the extensive upload code rewrite that could fix this issue. I hope to have time to answer the remaining questions on my talk page in the coming days. -- Bryan (talk to me) 22:40, 28 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
