Tiny barely noticeable mistake in molecule edit

I noticed the Chemdraw image on the article on gamma-endorphin is missing an hydrogen of the Valin fragment.

@MadderChemist: You're right. I will fix it soon. Thanks for letting me know. Ed (Edgar181) 20:15, 28 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

File:Pittsburgh compound B.png edit

Hi Edgar181. I'd suggest to re-draw the structure in a way that 11 does not hide the N–C bond. --Leyo 17:35, 24 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Yes, good suggestion. I have replaced it with File:Pittsburgh compound B.svg. Thanks, Ed (Edgar181) 17:49, 24 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. --Leyo 00:45, 25 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Your archive for 2017 goes to 2016 edit

Had to type it in manually to get to our old analogs. Only have a very few left:

Cocaine & Phenyltropanes

Benztropines & GBRs

UMB38 and chloro-substituted analogues (An R-substitution image for)

Then that's it, wouldn't even be the biggest deal in the world if you never got around to them, the first one is the only one really that goes to my cocaine analogues page to the ends of any exhaustive completeness, everything else is just as an aside. Nagelfar (talk) 01:11, 27 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Nagelfar: I didn't realize that there were some not done yet. All these are done now and can be found in my recent uploads. And I've corrected my archive link. Ed (Edgar181) 14:28, 27 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
Thanks! I mistyped with one though, I meant an R subst. image for the AHN, JHW, GA class, not the MFZ since you got the two MFZ and there were so many more of the others. Thanks Ed! Nagelfar (talk) 20:31, 27 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
OK, here's an image for that series: File:AHN-JHW-GA series.svg. Ed (Edgar181) 11:32, 28 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
LOL I think we're good, I just noticed I already had it; duh, my fault there: File:Cocaine_analog_260-265.svg, OK, sorry about that, thanks for all the rest. Nagelfar (talk) 20:55, 28 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

structure File:Polinoxilina.png edit

That's the structure provided by Avogadro(R) according to the SMILES here and here. Avogadro(R) created the structure with translation made in here.StormBringer (talk) 17:10, 31 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

@StormBringer: PubChem is full of chemical structure errors. Structures, SMILES, and other data are machine-generated and not well curated. In particular, PubChem does not handle polymers or other complex chemical structures well. Polinoxilina (polynoxylin) is a polymer, not individual units of formaldehyde and urea. Ed (Edgar181) 17:28, 31 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
I uploaded a new version of thefile. Check it out, please.StormBringer (talk) 18:09, 31 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
In my opinion, that is a little confusing. I wonder if something akin to these examples, File:Polyoxymethylene 3D spacefill.png or File:Polyethylene-terephthalate-3D-spacefill.png, might work better, where the viewer is looking at a section of a chain that extends beyond the borders of the image. In any case, I have removed the {{Disputed chem}} template. Thanks for the quick update. Ed (Edgar181) 18:42, 31 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Linaraftato edit

El tiocarbamato está entre el oxígeno y el nitrógeno. Pero por alguna razón el color amarillo no registro apropiadamente. Se cambió por otra estructura a partir del mismo archivo MOL. Gracias.StormBringer (talk) 16:07, 10 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the quick fix. Ed (Edgar181) 16:15, 10 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

request for svg image edit

When you get a chance can you make a replacement for File:Preparation of carbaryl as in Bhopal.png (change the n-ch3 fragment of carbaryl in the image to NMe)

Mfernflower (talk) 18:07, 5 March 2018 (UTC) Mfernflower (talk) 18:07, 5 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

In general, the use of "Me" isn't favored in chemical structure images on Wikipedia because in German "Me" is used to indicate "metal". Would you be OK with an image that uses "CH3" instead? Ed (Edgar181) 20:58, 5 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Dibenzoylhydrazine edit

Hello Edgar, I noticed your graphics work on Tebufenozide, and wondered if you might do the same to Dibenzoylhydrazine, seeing as it is very similar. Thanks in advance. Magnoffiq (talk) 00:25, 30 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

File:Sulfadoxine.svg edit

Hi. I noticed that you recently fixed the bond angles in this structure. They did indeed need fixing but at the same time the benzene ring was substituted for pyrimidine ring. I would fix it myself I don't currently have a vector graphics program (maybe I should give Inkscape a try). I know that ChemDraw has the option to save file as .svg but to my experiences it leads to weird problems when saved to Commons. --MiPe (talk) 09:40, 30 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Yes, you are right. I have now corrected the image. Thanks for catching the error and letting me know. Ed (Edgar181) 12:10, 30 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Mykhal: This record at PubChem says solenopsin A is the (S,S) enantiomer which matches the image File:Solenopsin.svg. The Wikidata item Q4427689 is consistent with the (S,S) isomer as well. Is there contradictory information somewhere? Ed (Edgar181) 19:56, 20 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Edgar181: It contradicts info from actual researche, see the linked discussion from the disputed chem. template added. Regards, —Mykhal (talk) 20:05, 20 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, I totally missed seeing the link. I'll review the information and then update the image, the Wikipedia article, and the Wikidata item accordingly. Thanks for catching the issue. Ed (Edgar181) 20:10, 20 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Other than the fact the account was created today and knows exactly how to upload photos and edit wikipedia makes me suspect that. Govvy (talk) 13:05, 27 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Well, the structure is not absolutely wrong, but looks a little bit strange. The cyclopropane ring shows upwards, so a little change will make the structure look better... --FK1954 (talk) 18:23, 9 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Mykhal and FK1954: I believe Mykhal is correct. My image, File:Cycloartenol.png, contains incorrect stereochemistry and should be universally replaced by the one Mykhal created, File:Cycloartenol.svg. Ed (Edgar181) 23:54, 9 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
