Call to justify requirements for uploaded files edit

User:Jcb, before starting my project I have learned the best practice, I have justified and validated the pages architecture and content and during ca. 4 years period uploaded more than 35.000 files. All these files include license information in the book template the image file is linked with. Your recent claim about this is not sufficient provision the license information is in conflict with the information I got years ago. In order to resolve the conflict kindly ask you to agree about the following procedure:
1. On 1st step you discuss this topic with your colleagues, licensing specialists and deliver your final conclusion if licence information provision via template is sufficient or not.
2. Based on the results of 1st step we shall agree about our following steps to be performed.
Please confirm. Thank you. Grybukas (talk) 15:19, 24 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

There is a clear consensus that in case of a picture of a 3D object, a license MUST be given as well for the picture, apart from eventual licenses for depicted objects. This is not about resolving a conflict or about coming to an agreement. This is about you being obliged to comply with our policies. Jcb (talk) 17:08, 24 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
I saw you removed the problem tag again from File:Batakių dekanato bažnyčių 1896 m. mirties metrikų nuorašai 178.jpg without adding a license for the picture. PD-old cannot be used for this, because it's rather obvious that the photographer did not die before 1949. Please consider this to be your last warning. I will dive into your other uploads as well. Jcb (talk) 17:13, 24 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
Please be aware that I have no intentions not to meet the requirements. It's pitty to see that instead of finding the proper solution to resolve the situation and instead of helping to resolve the situation you continue to mark the uploaded files. I am seeking your commitment for the following workflow/procedure:

1. Kindly ask you to stop marking the files.
2. I need your confirmation that PD-self is an appropriate for the files made by myself.
3. I need your suggestion how to mark the files made by volunteer who pass the file for publishing on Wikimedia Commons without public release the work into PD.
4. I need your assistance how to add licence for the pictures in bulk.
5. I need your tolerance for timeframe to bring in order 35.000 images.
Thank you. Grybukas (talk) 17:40, 24 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

I hope you understand that the way you responded today (trying to tell me what I should do, removing problem tags repeatedly, not stopping your upload batch when you were contacted) guarantees that admins lose their patience quickly. For the pictures you took yourself, you can use PD-self or another compatible license, e.g. CC-BY-SA 4.0. See also: COM:L. For pictures taken by a different photographer, we need to receive their permission via OTRS. We can only use these files if the photographers agree with a compatible free license. Which of the pictures are taken by you? Jcb (talk) 17:55, 24 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
I am working as administrator on different environments and I use the Rule #1 for myself Never lose the patience. Did I undestand your suggestion correct, that images created by myself I can mark Cc-by-sa-4.0, please confirm. I wish to mark these files, I need the suggestion how to mark these files in bulk. I have reviewed OTRS, it is clear for single file, I wonder if this is OK to put into the email hyperlinks to 15.000 images, please suggest how to handle OTRS for this amount of images. Thank you. Grybukas (talk) 18:21, 24 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
'Perform batch task' from the tools menu will be useful for mass corrections. You are allowed to use {{Cc-by-sa-4.0}} for pictures you have taken. Regarding OTRS, it's important that it's clear which files are involved, but I don't think it's needed to add all the file names one by one to the email message. A more pragmatic option would be to add the files from a photographer to a category like 'Picture taken by <name of the photographer>. The OTRS agent can then use this category for the batch tool to add the permission. Jcb (talk) 18:32, 24 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
I will learn myself to use 'Perform batch task' from the tools menu and I will initiate first OTRS for images in category. Thank you for suggestions. Grybukas (talk) 18:47, 24 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
Which files are your own work and which are taken by a different photographer? Jcb (talk) 19:21, 24 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
Recent marked files are made by different photographer. My files are e.g under Category:LVIA F669 ap1 b1829. I did find Help:VisualFileChange.js and I am trying to amend file licensing info.Grybukas (talk) 19:32, 24 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
Ok, then I will mark the recent uploads as OTRS pending. That will give you some time to arrange a permission, but it will also make sure that the files will be deleted if you don't. Jcb (talk) 19:37, 24 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
I have familarized myself how to add licence info with Help:VisualFileChange.js to the files created by myself. The time only is needed to bring the files in order. The open Question: How to proper upload the files provided by volunteer, upload first and OTRS request later ? What licence information to include during the upload ? Grybukas (talk) 20:14, 24 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
Please wait with further uploads of files by the volunteer until the OTRS ticket is accepted. We can make a template containing the permission, which then can be added on upload. Jcb (talk) 20:25, 24 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
OTRS Ticket#2019022410004957 registered, we'll see how it works. Can we process "make a template containing the permission, which then can be added on upload" or we need to receive results of OTRS Ticket first ? Grybukas (talk) 14:58, 26 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
I have processed the ticket. From now on, please add {{JustinasJanickas}} to all the pictures from this photographer that you upload. That should be sufficient. Jcb (talk) 17:26, 26 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Jcb: Thank you for prompt processing and special template creation, this empower me to bring the files in order. Justinas will feel comfortable while using his name with each file, other volunteers will not. Please advise what option is available to ommit the use of the name within the template, how this shall be noted in the email to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org. Thank you. Grybukas (talk) 21:11, 26 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
In a CC license, the author can specify with which text they want to be credited. This is often their real name, sometimes a website, sometimes a name and a website and sometimes a pseudonym. So if the volunteer does not want to be credited with their real name, they can tell us in the ticket and we will create a custom template in line with that wish. Jcb (talk) 22:08, 26 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
Very good. In addition, keeping in mind the requirements of EC BDAR I would say good practice would be not to use Names as it is not necessary and the trace is assured by OTRS Ticket No. I would suggest to use as standard Template:OTSR-%ID% for licence identification and Category:OTSR-%ID% for Photographer files collection. I will go this way with my other volunteer. Thank you.Grybukas (talk) 18:28, 27 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
