Inactive sysopEdit

Dear Notafish/archives3. I am writing to you to inform you that you are in danger of losing your adminship on Commons because of inactivity.

If you want to keep your adminship, you need both to sign at Commons:Administrators/Inactivity section within 30 days of today's date, and also to make at least five further admin actions in the following six months. Anyone who does not do so will automatically lose administrator rights.

You can read the de-admin policy at Commons:Administrators/De-adminship.

Thank you. Inactivist (talk) 11:24, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

the listEdit

  • Yes, I admit, but it's some that I don't get too. There're more sysops on the list, and they weren't added here, and they were also inactive. Why? Inactivist (talk) 13:28, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
You were not listed because you made over 5 log actions (e.g. deletion) after August 17, 2009, when is 6 months before starting this run. Inactivity section is run on Feb-Mar and Aug-Sep. So I reverted your edits. Best regards. – Kwj2772 (msg) 14:07, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

Picture file of largest shipsEdit

I have admired the excellent file you made of size comparisons of several classes of ships on e.g., the Seawise Giant article. Very well done. Perhaps you could alter them to include the Oasis of the Seas, the largest passenger ship? It would be very interesting to compare her with the other large vessels. 76.4.132.126 14:03, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

btw - could you add the T.I. Class of Super-tankers, like the 'Hellespont Fairfax', to the list of ships? - wolf

File:Blonde Woman at the beach.jpgEdit

seriously, why would you delete this wihout any discussion? the bot would have never uploaded it if it weren't free at that time.--DieBuche (talk) 13:27, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

Did you just delete it to not become inactive again?--DieBuche (talk) 13:30, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

en:Talk:Coxeter-Dynkin diagram symbolsEdit

I reloaded File:CDW 20.svg (and 10,17) which is a duplicate of "File:CDV 20.svg" BUT the W name is the correct one, to be consistent with all the other symbols. I created the symbol system for building up Coxeter-Dynkin diagrams. The SVG author named it "V" as a temporary parallel set, but "W" means ("Whole"), while "V" means nothing at all. Re your picture of drawing of largest ships and comparison with aeroplanesEdit

Dear Notafish My name is Annika Mansson (ms) working as a shipping agent in Stockholm, Sweden. Im currently working on making a homepage with as little commercial about shipping lines as possible. I also want to show the customers how ships looks like and comparison with aeroplanes. Im wondering if its ok if I put your picture in my homepage? I found your picture in Wikipeda.org

I found the picture very interesting because its not easy for people working in the business to understand how a ship looks like and the size of it. Most of the pictures that I have found is with companies logotypes on and it doesnt say much really. So, Im looking for different pictures of ships, aeroplanes, trucks, pallets etc.

Im looking forward to be hearing from you soon All the best Annika/Euro-Mundo Logistics my email is: [email removed for privacy]

Hi, Notafish Please do mark your votes this way: {{Oppose}}. Chances are, that your vote won´t be counted if you continue only to bold the text Oppose, due to the fact that the votes are counted by a bot.--Snaevar (talk) 16:51, 29 March 2011 (UTC)

WML voteEdit

I was wondering if the WLM logo contest would work better with support and oppose votes separated into their own sections. What do you think? --Waldir talk 19:06, 20 April 2011 (UTC)

I thought about it but seriously, I don't have time to redo it all :). Feel free to adjust! It'll definitely be easier to count ;) notafish }<';> 20:02, 20 April 2011 (UTC)

Picture of the Year voting round 1 openEdit

Dear Wikimedians,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2012 Picture of the Year competition is now open. We're interested in your opinion as to which images qualify to be the Picture of the Year for 2012. Voting is open to established Wikimedia users who meet the following criteria:

  1. Users must have an account, at any Wikimedia project, which was registered before Tue, 01 Jan 2013 00:00:00 +0000 [UTC].
  2. This user account must have more than 75 edits on any single Wikimedia project before Tue, 01 Jan 2013 00:00:00 +0000 [UTC]. Please check your account eligibility at the POTY 2012 Contest Eligibility tool.
  3. Users must vote with an account meeting the above requirements either on Commons or another SUL-related Wikimedia project (for other Wikimedia projects, the account must be attached to the user's Commons account through SUL).

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. From professional animal and plant shots to breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historically relevant images, images portraying the world's best architecture, maps, emblems, diagrams created with the most modern technology, and impressive human portraits, Commons features pictures of all flavors.

For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topic categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you can vote for as many images as you like. The first round category winners and the top ten overall will then make it to the final. In the final round, when a limited number of images are left, you must decide on the one image that you want to become the Picture of the Year.

To see the candidate images just go to the POTY 2012 page on Wikimedia Commons

Wikimedia Commons celebrates our featured images of 2012 with this contest. Your votes decide the Picture of the Year, so remember to vote in the first round by January 30, 2013.

Thanks,
the Wikimedia Commons Picture of the Year committee
