Welcome to Wikimedia Commons, Patrick Rogel!

Hello. You think the photos I posted violate someone else's copyright, but I made those photos myself. I demand clarification! --Вишневський (talk) 11:19, 21 August 2019 (UTC)

Hi. You have deleted my image, ‪File:Headshot photo of singer Eylem 2019.jpg‬ I'm sure images like this would usually be a copyright violation but in this case, this image does belong to me, Eylem Kizil, the subject of the photo and the holder of the Instagram account you reference (and the Wikipedia entry https://tr.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eylem_K%C4%B1z%C4%B1l). I have provided this image via commons licence as declared. Can you please undelete it or advise me how to annotate it so that when I request undeletion myself, through the system, it will not be deleted again? Many thanks, Eylem EylemKizil (talk) 08:18, 9 August 2019 (UTC)

Familia oydEdit

Hi, I've noticed that you marked some of the photos I've uploaded as "personal photos by non-contributors". I wonder why you believe that? Don't you identify the people in the pictures? All of them are important people in the political and social life in Colombia.

Photo licencingEdit

See i am a new user and very recently started creating files, i don't create articles for my personal benefit but i rather do them out of interest. i know there are licencing issues regarding the photos i uploaded but i can assure you that my intentions are not misuse them. And, it is nearly impossible to take photographs by myself of these articles. So i use photos which are usually open for the public view

Congratulations, dear license reviewerEdit

If you use the helper scripts, you will find the links next to the search box (vector) or as single tabs (monobook). They are named license+ and license-.

Hi Patrick Rogel, thanks for your request for license reviewer status. The request has been closed as successful, and you've been added to the list of reviewers. You can now start reviewing files – please see Commons:License review and Commons:Flickr files if you haven't done so already. We also have a guide how to detect copyright violations. Potential backlogs include Flickr review and files from other sources. You can use one of the following scripts by adding one of the lines to your common.js:

importScript('User:ZooFari/licensereviewer.js'); // stable script for reviewing images from any kind of source OR
importScript('User:Majora/LicenseReview.js'); // contains also user notification when review fails, auto blacklist-check and auto-thank you message for Flickr-reviews.

Please feel free to join us on IRC: #wikimedia-commons webchat on irc.freenode.net. You can also add {{User license reviewer}} to your user page if you wish. Thank you for your contributions on Commons! 1989 (talk) 21:16, 27 June 2019 (UTC)

Witold Szabłowski - image licenseEdit

Hi, I have received your mark about a picture that I have recently uploaded (FUJI8993.jpg) and you're saying that the license permission is missing. But the photographer (kubacelej1111@gmail.com) has already sent the permission twice with attached permission for using the photograph on the requested mail (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). I don't know what else I can do, I hope the mail will be found, because the person visualized on this photograph (Witold Szabłowski) really wants it to stay on the website. Greetings!

hi mr. rogel

being unfree on youtube dosen't show that it is a completely Nonshareable work and nobody can extract any thing from it. I know that it isn't a professional work to make a picture from a video!!! but I haven't seen any rules or obligations in Wikemedia about extracting any thing from a video to pervent me from doing that. and there wasn't any way to Communicate with Avangmusic company to give their Permission to do this unimportant thing (uploading an unusuall image for a Wikipedia page). ofcourse it's not easy to make it. I asked from other friends in WM to solve this problem, but he was not able to help me. on other hand, we can not go youtube in Iran, because it has filtered for some results and we can't search in that, and that's why I didn't realize that this video is un free. Thank you for your message, Patrick. I don’t usually upload images other than mine, so I was actually a little but unsure as to how to describe the permission. The picture was given to me to upload by Prof. Bond herself, from the photographer who authorized its use as CC-BY-SA 4.0. This was part of the activities from our Women’s Classical Committee, UK edit-a-thon held as outreach at the congress of International Federation of Classical Studies Associations in London. How should I better situate the permission of the file in this condition? Thank you very much, 82.132.220.25 22:16, 5 July 2019 (UTC)

Regarding my image upload warning...Edit

Hello Patrick...I received email notice this morning that you flagged my recent image upload File:Crowfoot Montage.jpg for lacking source info. It's a bit confusing for me, since I'm new to Wikipedia, but I think I have now added the required info. When I try to view the result, however, I only see it when I click on the 'edit the file description' link in your message, and not on the image page itself. Please let me know if the source info I added is sufficient and published correctly. Thank You...RD

Thanks for your reply on my Talk page, Patrick. Unfortunately, when I try to upload my band photos I get rejected. The record companies that signed me are no longer in business, so there's no way to find copyright info. If my original Source explanation isn't good enough, I give up. Wikipedia can delete my Crowfoot Montage. I added it for historical value, since this was my band. Thanks anyway for your help. Mistergreenleaf

Slovak national festivities invitation 1950.jpgEdit

Hello Patrick,

The image you flagged for copyright violation is a scan of the invitation from the Historical collection of the Museum of Vojvodinian Slovaks in Bački Petrovac (Vojvodina, Serbia), and has its own inventory number, provided in the description. The invitation refers to Slovak national festivities, annual festival organized by the Slovak minority in Serbia since 1919. The festival takes place in Bački Petrovac, the same town where the Museum is located. And, naturally, Museum has dozens of invitations to the Festivities collected over the past century. So I didn't take it from some random Facebook page, but from the official Museum of Slovaks in Serbia. Also the image has an OTRS template, and, as per usual, the Museum will provide permission for its use. --ShadowBrood84 (talk) 08:02, 10 July 2019 (UTC)

Hello Patrick,

The source of the image is Museum of Vojvodinian Slovaks, more precisely the Historical collection of the Museum. As for the FB image, someone also scanned the same invitation. It's not like only one invitation was printed for the 1950 Festivities. --ShadowBrood84 (talk) 10:31, 10 July 2019 (UTC)

hello?Edit

City of Canning editing today included two (not one Admins) experienced with the issues involved, as a consequence, your edit at sam wilson should be understood in terms of:

the source is accurate - these are owned by the City of Canning under the Copyright act 1968(Australia) work of employees as part of their duties. Released by the City of Canning OTRS ticket pending - this is clearly indicated

I fail to see why you should choose such material to tag as you have - if in fact the period of time for OTRS ticket pending would answer your question, if you gave it time to be delivered. JarrahTree (talk) 10:55, 10 July 2019 (UTC)

Very sorry - your reply has nothing to do with the process waiting for the OTRS ticket, and as such is irrelevent. JarrahTree (talk) 12:07, 10 July 2019 (UTC)

Effacement d’imagesEdit

Request to undo deletion request of images of tamingtheaibeast.orgEdit

Date: Wednesday 10th July 2019 Dear Patrick,

I have uploaded several cartoons on Wikimedia Commons. You have sent a deletion request for my cartoons. You even requested to delete my personal photo and the cartoon where you see me standing at the side of the chessboard. But you did not explain in your message why you have issued a deletion request.

The copyright of those images are with me personally. In 2018 most of those pictures, I paid an artist to make those images, according to my ideas, for my book Artificial Intelligence and Society, A Manifesto to Save our Future. I published the book on www.ai-society.org. This is a website that is owned by me personally. The artist has given the copyright of those images to me (against payment of course). So I am the sole owner of the copyright of those cartoons and of the photo I made from myself.

After comments from readers that my title is not catchy, I changed the title of the book and the website to Taming the AI Beast, a Manifesto to Save our Future. I made a new website under the name www.tamingtheaibeast.org. the domain www.ai-society.org is still owned by me, but it is offline.

I have released the images on several blogs, most notably the last few months on Medium under the account @tamingtheaibeast.org, some on my LinkedIn account under the name Remy van Nieuwenhoven and numerous other places.

But the copyright and first publication is on my own personal name. If necessary, I can send proof of ownership of the websites www.tamingtheaibeast.org and www.ai-society.org. Just give me your email address at tamingtheaibeast@protonmail.com or ai-society@protonmail.com, and I will show the registration with my provider www.ixlhosting.nl. You may also contact me on tel +31628401925 with any questions.

I want to release dozens of more cartoons. I am not seeking any profit from those cartoons. I just want them to be available to the world community.

Looking forward to your reply.

Greetings,

Remy van Nieuwenhoven

Photos uploadedEdit

Hi Mr Rogel,

I work for my client Laetitia Eïdo the actress and she has asked me to update her wikipedia pages. I did not contest the deletion of the photos that had no license. However the others I sent permission to this address "permissions-fr@wikimedia.org" with the photos she has a right too. They were taken with her phone, by her husband and her agent whom are often with her when working. I am currently in contact with them via email. Thank you for your time and apologize if I hav misunderstood the usage of WikiCommons. Don't hesitate to contact me if need be. Re- Louis BakerEdit

I'm really sorry, I don't know how to get permission for this photo. I don't know the email of the photographer (he has a pretty common name), or how to find it, or what really to ask him, and if I did get a reply, how long would that take( the photo may have been removed by then, it's only seven days). Maybe if we can't figure out how, could you just delete it? I've got a new one as well- check it out at my contributions.--Leavepuckgackle1998 (talk) 14:32, 18 July 2019 (UTC)

I'm an amateur with regards to images mate. The only thing I have going for me is I'm bold. The two images were transferred from Paul Gascoigne's Italian page on the it.wiki (Gascoigne's Italian page https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Gascoigne) to the commons, using a tool. The tool gave the license you see... If there is a problem with permission, I suggest you contact https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utente:Danyele who uploaded them on it.wiki. I do not speak Italian. File:Tyler Radford.jpg and File:Tyler Radford (cropped).jpgEdit

Hi Patrick.

I have asked Tyler Radford to upload a picture of himself to the upcoming Wikimania 2019 program, he is in the Spotlight Session and we have asked the participants for a portrait. I have described the rules of Wikimedia Commons and we agreed that the best way to upload a portrait is if he asks the photographer to upload it with a proper license. So the photo is uploaded by the photographer. You can also compare the metadata at Commons with the thumbnail on the website to see that information is from the original file. Hi Patrick, Thank you for your concern regarding the images I have been uploading in the last few days to Wikimedia commons. Most of the pictures copyright were given to me by the authors of the artworks. A few were pictures that I took my self. I am sorry if I did not set the right copyright permission when uploading them. I already asked the authors to send an email to permissions to certify they are aware and ok with the photos to be shared in wikimedia. Regarding the book cover I will delete the file. Paintings related to the Theo SchoonEdit

Hey Patrick, I don’t understand. These don’t need permission. I took these photos myself in a public place. They meet the criteria for uploading images. You shouldn’t delete them. Leavepuckgackle1998 (talk) 10:09, 28 July 2019 (UTC)

Hey Patrick, I took these in Australia, where it is legal for photographers to take photographs inside publicly accessible interiors. Plus, there were no heirs to these paintings, as Schoon had no next of kin and never married. Just now, on the reccomendations of a help page, I’ve sent out an email using Wikimedia OTRS release generator related to these articles. Sorry if I didn’t make a signature before, it’s just that I’m editing from a tablet and I don’t know how to do it.

Naamsvermelding is dus in veel gevallen verplicht.

File:Hermano Paul McAuley.jpgEdit

Hi Patrick, you recently deleted this file: Hermano Paul McAuley.jpg.

On 2013 I filmed an interview with Brother Paul McAuley with my friends Pryzka Ducoeurjoly and Jonathan Semo in the city of Iquitos, in my country (Peru). The image is an still from the video produced and now online in Youtube WE LOVE FUTURE, Change, are you ready ? my credits appear on min. 14:12. The video was made to promote sustainability through the testimonies of Brother Paul McAuley and other participants. Last April 2019, environmental activist Brother Paul was killed and his body burned. I created the article about Brother Paul in the Spanish Wikipedia and uploaded the still image of brother Paul I shot to Wikimedia Commons.

I am the author and owner of those images. The web page of We Love Future (created by Pryzka and Jonathan) mentions a Copyright for the contents, but the image I used was not taken from that web page but from my own archives. Can you undelete it?

Your deletion request to CC Indonesia Public Domain Awareness PostcardEdit

Hi Patrick, I hereby represent CC Indonesia for it's Public Domain Awareness Postcard which you submitted for deletion request in this platform.

So, to abide with the copyright clearance policy of Wikimedia Commons I've edited all the files "Source", "Author", and "Permission" which you can check here:

This the ones you require for more information to clear the permission:Edit

And here are some of the files you indicate that some of them are not public domain yet in Indonesia which is not true because the source itself has released the file under CC0 Public Domain dedication (so it should be public domain everywhere):Edit

Well, making deletion request is easy from my point of view, Pat. That's why i'm asking you a favour to undo what you're doing if this new edits suit the community protocol?

We know how effective Wikimedia Commons in term of creating collection items and we've been using it for quiet long time, and we we want to keep using it. So please help us to keep this files on and may this edit could be a precedence for the next upload batch.

Thanks

Elvira Lopez & Costa RicaEdit

Hi Patrick, sorry for my late reaction, but, as we say in my country, I have been out of circulation for more than a half a year. Now its ok, and I am on board again, so I started to check my discussion page and I found your messages. You have reason that there is no proof that artist Elvira López agreed to license the file under the license I gave. It's my fault, I thought that when you don't take a photo of a painting alone, but with the author and is clear that the author is allowing the taking of that photo, that's ok; this is the principle of journalists: when you interview a painter or sculptor and take a photo of him whith his works, the newspaper doesn't require a written permission to print that photo. Well, I now I understand that I was wrong, that Commons is different and need such a permission also in these cases; is true that even is she was aware that the photos were for Commons, she after may have change of opinion. So I will try to contact the artist (I don't live in Chile) asking the permission and then will see what happens. Concerning Costa Rica, I am afraid you are right again, no FoP: the law was changed in 2008 and this concern even graffiti (although these street-art, mostly anonymous and doomed to be destroyed, and copyright, seem to be incompatible things). --Roferbia (talk) 19:52, 1 August 2019 (UTC)

Santiago International Book Fair photosEdit

Hi again, Patrick. I didn't realize at first that was also you who made the deletion request for this bunch of photos. Well, as I just posted in the deletion request page, I think that the writers photos should not be deleted, and even if the photos are not used in other wikiprojects, they can be used (I am saying this bases on my own experience in Spanish speaking countries) in newspapers from provinces, cultural pages on the internet, reader's clubs, etc. I have covered several international book fairs in past years, and a number of photos from this events in fact have been used outside Wikipedia (unfortunately, I have no record of them because I don't request, as you can see in my uploads, a notification of use, but I have seen some in internet newspapers and I know than in some reader's club they made paper bookmarks whith photos that I shot at the Fair).

I want to continue uploading the photos of the Santiago Fair, and there are many that I will use after uploading them in the corresponding Wikipedia articles (mainly for that purpose I shot the photos), but if you immediately propose them for deletion, then is very difficult to continue, because you have to leave Commons and start working in the articles to avoid deletion. I would never proposed for deletion, for example, photos that are in the Salon du livre de Paris category (Livre Paris) just because they are not in use in Wikipedia, first of all because I don't know in depth the literature situation and life of France and therefore I can't correctly juge about it. The educational purpose concept is a broad thing, as the scope page states; is not as clear as, for example, when you upload photos from a country where there is no FoP (as I wrongly did with Costa Rica) or when you used a wrong license. Well, after been out of circulation, as I told you, for a long time, I want to catch up now and upload the rest of the photos taken in the FILSA.

Finally, I saw that in the bunch of FILSA photos you put at the end two of artist Elvira López (without the photos with her paintings they now don't make much sense; in any case, the cat in the birdcage is like a live installation :) ) . Fortunately I haven't contact her yet, because now I am afraid that if she sends the permission and the photos are restored, the you can think that they are also out of scope. In the bunch of photos that you selected there are two on which one can think that they are private photos, the ones related to Elvira López. She is a fine Chilean painter, and I wouldn't like to be in the uncomfortable situation of obtaining her permission only to see afterwards the photos have been deleted again. So, before I try to contact this painter, please tell me if you intend to propose them again for deletion in the case they are restored or not.

Best regards, --Roferbia (talk) 14:31, 4 August 2019 (UTC)

Copyright questionEdit

Unfortunately, I too see the long list of nice images submitted as lacking proper permission. I am curious about one, however, File:14966642231 edf403d44b oedit.jpg. The original was a 500-900 year old painting. The photographer found a way of photographing it (computer enhancement). So...is it a mechanical reproduction of a public domain work, being 500-900 years old (and thus public domain), or is there interpretation in the image (the reason that sculpture photos aren't public domain automatically). I'm not going to suggest either. I respect those who did the work to take the photo, but wonder, if this were a straight photo image revealed by infrared film, would it be public domain or interpretive. Cheers, Jacqke (talk) 01:35, 9 August 2019 (UTC)

Fair use of screenshots old TV-showsEdit

Dear Patrick.

Thank you for your comment on my talk page! I uploaded a couple of screenshots of old Dutch TV-shows (1988, 1992), of which two of Dutch skeptic Rob Nanninga (and one of Dutch skeptic Jan Willem Nienhuys). Photos of the first are very hard to find, and for this reason, I liked the idea of offering some more. There's only one photo of Nanninga in Wikipedia English, but this was rather right before his death, when he was looking a bit more unhealthy. I am not sure about the "fair use" of screenshots of TV-shows. There must be an angle to use so this is allowed. Of Dutch origin, I am now a US citizen (since 2017), and the differences between all the Wikipedia rights countries are quite hard to understand and to deal with. Maybe if you could help me out, how to get this right, so that no "Fair use" law is "violated". These aren't photos of course, they are screenshots of moving images as in the public realm (TV-shows that are retrievable through the Dutch media archive "Beeld en Geluid").

Sincerely yours,

Constantia Oomen

>> Replying to your second comment: oh, so the English label is wrong? Is it possible to change that for the English Wikipedia articles of Rob Nanninga and Jan Willem Nienhuys?, and do you have any idea which label they should get as in "Screenshots of moving images" of public, old Dutch TV shows? I really would appreciate it if you would not just nominate for deletion or delete instantaneously, but rather help me out here. Though I am a frequent user of a local Wiki, Wikipedia is much harder to grasp. Thank you, Constantia

>>> Edit, a bit later: I am gone for a couple of hours now. So, if I don't reply immediately, you know the reason. Thanks! Could you leave the screenshots for now?, I do hope you know which label to use for the English Wikipedia... Constantia

Who is the painter and why should it be public domain? Patrick Rogel (talk) 20:16, 10 August 2019 (UTC)

This was painted in the late 19th century by Alejandro Witcomb’s studio. In the photograph of the painting "Pedro Firmo Únzaga" (https://imgur.com/06lGJOB), you can see in the upper left corner the signature "Witcomb Fotos" (https://imgur.com/GjJQFuj). Alejandro Witcomb died in 1905, that is, this painting is over 100 years old.
The photograph of the painting was taken, cut and edited by me. And the painting is exhibited in the Museo Histórico Provincial (Provincial Historical Museum) "Orestes Di Lullo" in Santiago del Estero, Argentina. In one of its galleries, the paintings of the governors of the province of Santiago del Estero are displayed, including Pedro Únzaga's painting. All were made by the Witcomb company. The paintings are exhibited since the opening of the museum in 1941. http://www.santiagocultura.gob.ar/museos/museo-historico-provincial-orestes-di-lullo.html
This picture is important for the articles of history of the province of Santiago del Estero. If you want, you can change the license that was put for this image by another more appropriate. Please don't delete it. --Gergas (talk) 22:01, 10 August 2019 (UTC)

Commons:Deletion requests/Files uploaded by Tommy FashionEdit

Hi Patrick,

Thanks for the insight.

I read the COM:SCOPE page and the Upload Wizard. Those pages don't say that I have to have a contribution on other sister projects in order to upload photos. It does say that I have to own the copy rights and be willing to allow others to use the photos, which I have agreed to.

Please note, the pictures uploaded today are a part of a project for a non-profit school and some of my older pictures are being used by other wiki sites (both of them being non-English speaking sites. One site is uk.wikipedia.org Вінтаж (мода) and the other is Usage on ja.wikipedia.org ギャル).

Per your direction I did send a message to Administrator 1989. Thanks again for the help. --Tommy Fashion (talk) 01:32, 11 August 2019 (UTC)

Hi, I got warnings about these pictures: c:File:R. Jindrák (002).jpg c:File:Honorarni konzulove.jpg I am the author of the pictures, which were uploaded to Twitter.

Is there a way how to keep the files undeleted? (Sorry, I am a newbie in this sphere.)

The file:Tmodis.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation, but this is wrong. I own all the rights to this file; it has been the flagship photo on my website (www.growth-dynamics.comn) for the last 20 years! Please help me resolve this issue.

MPourzaki (WMF)Edit

Hi Patrick, I uploaded two photos, Mehrdad Pourzaki candid.jpg and Mehrdad Pourzaki portrait.jpg. They are the works of my photographer friend Georgia Esporlas. I will absolutely credit them properly next time, I thought that since she gave them to me in good spirits, that was good enough; definitely dropped the ball on this one, sorry. I sent OTRS to Georgia and she said she did completed it on Friday Aug 09, giving me permission to post and use them on Commons CC SA4.0. Could you please let me know if this has gone through properly? I'm learning the ropes, many thanks.

Request for image undeletion File:Hirondina.jpgEdit

Hi,

I would like to file an undeletion request for File:Hirondina.jpg

I try to keep my page https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hirondina_Joshua regurarly updated, on June 12, 2019 I took this photo as a means of keeping the content updated.

And I also used the same photo, as you can see on this link ( https://www.facebook.com/300298703489951/photos/a.300299880156500/1110581289128351/?type=1&theater ) as my social media profile.

Any further information in regards to licensing, I would be happy to provide.

File: Malcolm Adams IAEE.jpgEdit

Hello, you marked the image of File:Malcolm Adams IAEE.jpg for deletion. I have full licensing. The image was taken at the Businessmen & Brandy event on December 27th, 2018 with my camera. The image is being used on the biography page: Malcolm Adams, IAEE but it is pending review. Unfortunately, when I first uploaded this file I had mistakenly used a username that was deleted. The image was taken in a public place, at an event where professional headshots were offered to the attendees. Please advise how we can resolve this issue. Per the scope and content template, the image should be accepted. Liza Montalban (talk) 04:04, 15 August 2019 (UTC)Liza Montalban

Hi Patrick, so uploading directly from the camera will solve the issue? for this second image, it is being used on facebook as well, Mr. Adams needs to add a license to his own social media profiles? I am having a hard time understanding the license page. The other account was deleted to my understanding, but this image is still attached to that user account. Can you speedy delete so that I may upload them correctly this time attached to this account. Please help? Thanks. Liza Montalban (talk) 00:35, 16 August 2019 (UTC)Liza Montalban

Hi Patrick, I've noticed that you marked some pictures I've uploaded as "personal photos by non-contributors". So, I wonder why you think so? Don't you identify the people in the picture? All of them are important people in the political and social life in Colombia.

File: Arte Conceptual.jpg and File:RoN Herramientas Planning.webm ‎Edit

Hello Patrick!

I saw that you marked this two files as possible copyright infringement. I wanted to clarify that I added the source of the content, it has been shared on social media, it has the correct licence and I even took the time to ask to the owners for the permission to upload it on Wiki commons (even when it does have a free share licence).

--Latin-Fox (talk) 22:04, 16 August 2019 (UTC)

Patrick, following your answer, I'm gonna ask them to do that change or send the info. But I'll kindly ask you to change the file marks from quick delete to just a delete or waiting for the correction so it doesn't get deleted. Thanks! --Latin-Fox (talk) 22:17, 16 August 2019 (UTC)

Deleted photos I own the rights toEdit

Hi Patrick,

You deleted our images. The sources you shared include images that were supplied and received permissions from the Toronto Centre Federal Liberal Association (us), as these are our images. For example, this source, which you provide as a reason (here:https://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2012/04/22/unhcr_reaches_out_to_corporate_canada_to_support_refugee_programs.html) notes it was a "supplied image".

Please let me know if you need any further validation to retract the deletions.

Martin Paul Eve2.png and Martin Paul Eve1.pngEdit

You have marked these files for speedy deletion. On the page from whcih they are sourced (https://eve.gd/c-v/) the footer says "The image at the top of the homepage is copyright and all rights reserved but all other images, unless specified, are CC BY". Since this page is NOT the home page (that's at https://eve.gd), and the imagre at the top of that page has not been uloaded to Commons, both images are CC-BY and therefore should not be subject to deletion on grounds of copyright. --Pfold (talk) 16:50, 20 August 2019 (UTC)

Questioning your "missing evidence of permission" deletionEdit

Hi again, maybe you missed the response on my talk page, and it'd be a shame if we lost a good and not easily replaceable photo from Commons by mistake. Can you explain why you've flagged File:The Bugle Live (LR)-28.jpg as "missing evidence of permission", when the uploader clearly claims to have taken it themselves? Is that not a sufficient statement of permission? --Lord Belbury (talk) 10:26, 21 August 2019 (UTC)

You say "the original file is still missing permission", but what permission are you asking for? User:Kriskina uploaded the photo, credited it to User:Kriskina and described the source as "Own work"? If they'd credited it to someone else then Commons would require that person's permission to be clearly stated, but they haven't done that. They're saying it's their own photo. --Lord Belbury (talk) 10:37, 21 August 2019 (UTC)

I care if someone is using deletion templates incorrectly. It deters uploaders, wastes the time of administrators, and may even result in valid photos being deleted in error. The uploader has already given permission here. They are saying it is their own work. --Lord Belbury (talk) 10:50, 21 August 2019 (UTC)

The photos I uploadedEdit

I was using Attribution Share-Alike on Flickr and supposed that would be the same on commons??. I am following it on the exact same format pages like Tommy Talau is used & to be honest who is going to take me or wikipedia to court over images like that?? it's informative to the wikipedia page otherwise who needs this commons thing. Is this something only professional photographers use or something? How can I fix it or should I just stop all together. Why don't you now find the exact same images and upload them? Why don't you try finding the required licenses for this?? Getmefood (talk) 11:07, 21 August 2019 (UTC)
