File:Explorer++ on ReactOS.pngEdit

Rezonansowy, please explain how have you managed to take such screenshot of Explorer++ in ReactOS? We need this information for testing purposes. ReactOs Team —Preceding unsigned comment was added by 62.122.240.206 (talk) 08:09, 26 February 2015 (UTC)

Template:Copy to CommonsEdit

Hi Rezonansowy. Magnus' Move to Commons tool assumes it is a legitimate template (presuming it checks if a template exists on Commons before copying it) and appends it to the generated file description page. In other words, this template's existence causes it to be used. Also, please note that there are many name variations to this template on enwp; this is a less common one, so it doesn't show up regularly in transfers. Hi! Thanks for your feedback on it! Basing on info given by you above, I think all we need to do is to update Magnus' MtC tool and create other redirects to conform to Wikipedia templateland. --Rezonansowy (talk) 03:43, 11 September 2017 (UTC)
It's not exclusively an issue with Magnus' tool. FtCG also seems to have this problem. Furthermore, neither of these tools are actively maintained. The solution you've proposed creates a ton of unnecessary work in that a) someone will have to work with the tools' [inactive] authors to implement and distribute a code fix, and b) create an impractical maintenance problem (e.g. what if someone creates new redirects on enwp, or another wiki?). IMO a better fix would be to either generate a recurring database report tracking copy to commons templates, or use a bot to remove instances of the template (I believe OgreBot already does this for new uploads). The template does not need to exist for either of these solutions. Regards, FASTILY 01:13, 12 September 2017 (UTC)
