I protest, that you deleated portrait photo of Josef Opitz at my article. I have copyright for it, I published it as illustration of my article (Dana Stehlíková: Josef Opitz v Národním muzeu 1941 - 1945, in: Josef Opitz a umění na Chomutovsku a Kadaňsku 1350–1590. Sborník, eds. Renáta Gubíková — Markéta Prontekerová, s. 55-84. ISBN: 978-80-87898-11-6., all other internet users copyied my photo, but it is only a detail from larger photo of halfigure. Please, reverte it! Thank you -- Dobroš (diskuse) 1. 12. 2016, 22:32 (CET) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dobroš (talk • contribs) 21:22, 01 December 2016 (UTC)

Which media file are we talk about here, and which edit did I cause to make you write here? Siebrand 10:16, 21 May 2017 (UTC)

Permission to use figure in a book.Edit

Dear Siebrand,

I am working with Prof. Steven LaValle to help obtain permissions for borrowing figures or pictures in his upcoming book Virtual Reality, to be published by Cambridge University Press. The book is online here:

We are hoping to include the picture of yours ( in this book (Chapter 5, Figure 5.13). Could we please have your permission for this? Thank you.

Please check the license and author, and you should know if you are able to use it for your purpose or not. Siebrand 10:15, 21 May 2017 (UTC)

Problem with your DelinkerBotEdit

Hello Siebrand. Could you please explain this action of your bot on a featured article? The file wasn't deleted on commons and the note written by the bot is actually mistaken. There are some worried users on (because the bot is pretty active and it would be a very time consuming action to check every edit). Thanks. --Lucas (msg) 11:20, 21 February 2017 (UTC)

I checked again and the edit was actually correct, sorry for bothering you. ;) --Lucas (msg) 12:36, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
Great to hear. Siebrand 10:15, 21 May 2017 (UTC)

Wrong substitutionsEdit

Hello your bot is leaving a lot of errors on it.wikipedia. E.g. This should have been this. Here the other corrections I've made. --Horcrux92 (talk) 12:40, 4 March 2017 (UTC)

Same error here --Horcrux92 (talk) 08:32, 4 April 2017 (UTC)
And here. And here. Do you read the messages or do you just ignore them? --Horcrux92 (talk) 19:58, 4 April 2017 (UTC)
I'm no longer involved in running CommonsDelinker. Siebrand 10:13, 21 May 2017 (UTC)

Hi. Why are these and these duplicates?   — Jeff G. ツ 11:48, 16 May 2017 (UTC)

I have no idea what I worked on 9 years ago, but these appear to be duplicates as they are empty pages... Siebrand 10:13, 21 May 2017 (UTC)
Thank you. Can you delete them, please?   — Jeff G. ツ 01:48, 22 May 2017 (UTC)
@Jeff G.: It looks like a work where it was scanned double-sided, though the work was single-sided pages. So there was a bot replacement of the large images with a 1x1 image. The images still seem pertinent in that they are used in the run of images linking serially, so simply deleting the images may not be the means to progress. We need to nut out the issue, and look to the best means resolve. At the minute having 1x1 pixels is an easy solution and doesn't break the work, so it should stand rather than simply deleting for the sake of tidiness.  — billinghurst sDrewth 02:11, 22 May 2017 (UTC)
@Billinghurst: Thanks.   — Jeff G. ツ 02:14, 22 May 2017 (UTC)

中文維基詞典機械人除權預告/ Notification of pending suspension of bot permissions due to inactivity from zh.wiktionaryEdit

  • 經查,閣下機械人已經寂伏多年。如果一週以後,無所回應,則會提案至元維基申請除權。特此通知。
  • Your bot has been inactive for years. If there's no reply by one week I'll request the removal of the permissions at Meta.
  • --J.Wong 10:35, 23 June 2017 (UTC)

Could you please explain...Edit

You deleted Category:Canadian authors.

I felt its absence today, and was going to create it, with exactly the contents your entry in the deletion log said it had, when you deleted it.

Why the deletion? Geo Swan (talk) 23:47, 9 August 2017 (UTC)

De-adminship warningEdit

This talk page in other languages:

Dear Siebrand. I am writing to inform you that you are in danger of losing your adminship on Commons because of inactivity.

If you want to keep your adminship, you need both to sign at Commons:Administrators/Inactivity section within 30 days of today's date, and also to make at least five further admin actions in the following six months. Anyone who does not do so will automatically lose administrator rights.

You can read the de-admin policy at Commons:Administrators/De-adminship.

Thank you--B dash (talk) 08:05, 19 August 2017 (UTC)

CommonsDelinker errorEdit

Hi Siebrand,

this one is not perfect. The image was in a gallery, and the bot removed the file without removing the description (see my next edit). Bináris (talk) 16:56, 4 September 2017 (UTC)

Hi Siebrand — in line with the above de-adminship warning, I'd like to let you know that the admin inactivity run for August-September 2017 has now finished. As you had failed to indicate willingness to retain your admin privileges or to perform the required number of admin actions, I submitted a request on Meta-Wiki to have your adminship revoked as required by our inactivity policy.

A Wikimedia steward has already attended to this request, and you have since been added to the autopatrolled user group as you are a trusted and experienced member of the Commons community. I'd like to use this opportunity to thank you for the many years of your service to Commons; while it is disappointing that you're no longer as active as you used to be, I hope you will come back to us one day and will continue contributing to the project. Of course, please do feel free to re-apply for adminship when this happens :-) Thanks again! odder (talk) 22:10, 30 September 2017 (UTC)
