Unusual decline on QIC edit
Hello Tufta! Thanks for the review of File:Death Valley Bad Water Basin 03 2013.jpg. It is somehow unusual (for sure not forbidden) on QIC to decline an images directly which has only some minor issues. In such a case it is better to leave it on Nomination, give a short comment and give the uploader a chance to correct this issues. In the most cases I do only decline when there a too many to crucial issues. Crop and dust spots are definitely not such ones. I will upload a new version of the image soon. - Hello Tuxyso! Sure thing. I have been using the QIVoter helper, and that offers you only the possibility to promote or decline. As far as I have understood, this is the intended workflow. Pictures are either promoted or declined and then can be put back to discussion by anyone. Hope to get further opinions on your image. --Tufta (talk) 08:22, 29 September 2013 (UTC)

Nominateif there are only minor issues. I personally do not use to QIVoter tool. My understanding of QIC is that there is not only a good or bad (like a filter mechanism) but QIC is also for improving images. Reviewers ofter see (minor) issues of which the nominator is not aware of (dust spot, improveable crop, washed out, missing contrast,...) In that cases the image should be improved during QIC. If I would use the QIVoter tool I would only use it for very clear support cases.
For sure it is up to you to decline images in the case of minor issues (as written: it is not forbidden). I was unsure if you are probably a newer users and because of that I thought it is a good idea to write something about the commons practice on QIC and my understanding of the process.
