      • Thank you.   Question Just out of curiosity: the keys to Sarcoscypha taxa given on that page indicate that the main host of S. jurana is Tilia. Was it the case here (or nearby)? I am unable to recognize the leaves on the ground. --Myrabella (talk) 11:26, 6 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
        • The withered leaf on the ground looks like an Acer species and the green yellow plant is a Chrysosplenium. There could have been Tilia around of course but that's to the author to confirm. The three mentioned genera do occur on light acidic soils however, so in theory it is possible. Taxocat (talk) 12:03, 6 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
        • Hello, sorry that I answer so late but I have only time in the evening. At first: Thank you very much for building the new category! Now some words to the determination:I had the same problems as you at first. Why?I knew that Sarcoscypha jurana normally grow on Tilia branches and like jurassic rock habitats (the location is a jurassic rock valley). I inspected the branch but I could not determine the exact species because the wood was very moldered. Then I looked at the trees around the place; there were beech, lime an maple trees. Later I asked many people, studied the web and read literature to got informations about this fungus. Finally I became the tip to look at the homepage (see "reverences" below the picture). Anyway, I found a distribution map of the three species map. At my location stated Sarcoscypha jurana. Afterwards I found another good reverence of Sarcoscypha jurana of exact my location reverence two: Please have a look to the description box, Sarcoscypha jurana, location (it is the same). Many greetings--H. Krisp (talk) 15:21, 6 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
