@NikoK98: Hi, and welcome. I am sorry to inform you that you have triggered Special:AbuseFilter/153 by trying to cross-wiki upload pdf and jpg images as a new user while leaving the summary intact. The following applies to each image. You said it's your own work. Usually when someone uploads such an image, it's a copyright violation taken from the web. Please upload the full-size original of it, including EXIF metadata, but if you were not the original image designer or photographer, that person may need to send permission via OTRS with a carbon copy to you. Also, it may look fuzzy when scaled down, so you may want to upload a jpg version, too. If you change the summary or use our Upload Wizard instead, you should be able to avoid that filter.   — Jeff G. please ping or talk to me 20:20, 1 May 2019 (UTC)

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Justin_TheDreamz.jpg. apparently the Category:My Life and Loves was created firstly for Frank Harris's book. i guess, seems the filter sees it's no good because above edit would lead the file into uncategorized state.

and let the page for the reporting pop on other browsing tab, for easy checkup or copy&paste works during the reporting session. 49.1.109.105 19:29, 3 May 2019 (UTC)

Report by Joaoquintino

Joaoquintino: The filter you encountered prevents low-resolution and PNG format uploads from newly registered users using the particular upload form that you used. The reason for this filter is that such uploads overwhelmingly turn out to be copyright violations.
Did you actually personally create this logotype, as you claimed when attempting to upload it, and are you personally the copyright holder? If not, the filter worked as intended. You may wish to read Commons:Guidance for paid editors, which includes information on sharing logotypes correctly. LX (talk, contribs) 16:00, 6 May 2019 (UTC)

The logo you tried to upload is smaller, and you said it's your own work. Usually when someone uploads a smaller logo, it's a copyright violation taken from the web. Please upload the full-size original of it, including EXIF metadata, but it may be judged too complex to be under TOO in the country of origin, so you may need to post COM:L compliant permission for such works on your website or social media presence or send permission via OTRS because we don't allow Fair Use here. Hi Jeff. Sorry, I'm new to the whole Wiki universe so please excuse my errors/mistakes. I was able to go through Wiki Commons and upload the logo. I uploaded a png again but I do have the original files if needed (I don't entirely understand this process and the EXIF metadata). My intentions on Wiki are to make sure that my company's listed info and logo are correct (i.e.- Company financials, employee count, date founded, stock listing, logo, etc). I am not being directly paid to update the page. I was just looking at the Zynex page and noticed all the information was wrong. Date founded is 1996 but was noted as 2001. Financials were all from 2012. The website was listed as Zynexmed.com which is not an active domain. I went ahead and noted my user page as a paid contributor since I work for Zynex Medical. Hopefully, that is the correct process. Again, I'm not being paid or trying to advocate or promote anything for financial gain or stake. I just want to make sure the information is correct regarding our company details. Thanks again for your help on this. Dzwygart (talk) 14:56, 13 May 2019 (UTC)

@Dzwygart: Thank you for that updated information. Along with primary references like the most recent Annual Report or audited financials and secondary references like newspaper coverage of the move, it would best be posted to en:Talk:Zynex.   — Jeff G. please ping or talk to me 16:27, 13 May 2019 (UTC)

@Blah: Hi, and welcome. I am sorry to inform you that you have triggered Special:AbuseFilter/56 by trying to refer to COM:PENIS without having made 50 edits yet. @Jeff G.: Thank you for the explanation! After checking the filter's logs, I can see why this filter is helpful. (Btw. I love the expression to get multiple ways of referring to one's female parental figure!) But I saw also multiple users trying to post that link. Sure, you can use the other link, but the shortcut is so catchy... Do you think there is a way I could request an exception to the filter's expression? Or is this a lost cause, because no one will ever like to add a single exception to a filter? --Blah (talk) 05:07, 16 May 2019 (UTC)

@Naman27kapoor: Hi, and welcome. I am sorry to inform you that you have triggered Special:AbuseFilter/153 by trying to cross-wiki upload a smaller (<50KB or <5MP) jpg photo as a new user while leaving the summary intact. The photo you tried to upload is smaller, and you said it's your own work. Usually when someone uploads a smaller photo, it is a copyright violation taken from the web. If you took the photo yourself, please upload the full-size original of it, including EXIF metadata. If you did not take the photo, please see Commons:Licensing for why we can't accept it, and have the photographer post Commons:Licensing compliant permission for such works on their website or social media presence or send the photo and permission via OTRS with a carbon copy to you. None of the filter log links you provided have any entries, and in any case, you cannot upload anything unless you are registered and logged in, which you are not.
But searching through all the entries in the log, I'm guessing you may be Rdarji4 (talkcontribsblock logfilter log) who tried to upload File:Miteshbhai Rameshbhai Patel (Bakabhai).jpg (histlogsabuse log). If so, the filter that you encountered prevents low-resolution uploads from newly registered users using the particular upload form that you used. The reason for this filter is that such files overwhelmingly turn out to be copyright violations.
If you did indeed personally create this photo, as you stated when you attempted to upload it ("This is my own work" and "I attest that I own the copyright on this file"), the expectation is that you should be able to provide a full-resolution version rather than the 844×858 pixel miniature version that you tried to upload. But since the photo you were trying to upload was grabbed from https://www.facebook.com/Miteshbhaibjp/photos/a.1509687099114086/2138767252872731/, it would seem that the filter worked as intended and that "the needful" is for you to stop attempting to infringe on other people's copyright by trying to upload their work as your own. Unable to Upload My Own Image

I'm currently updating the Wikipedia page of the company I work for. When trying to add images, I was met with several notification disputing the fact that the images I'm uploading are mine (which they are). I'm wondering if this is due to the fact that most of the images have been used in blog posts, press releases, etc and now exist on different websites as well as Google Images. I'm hoping that someone can point me in the right direction of getting this matter resolved quickly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by EY418 (talk • contribs) 17:31, 28 May 2019 (UTC)
