Jamaican term now life + 95 years edit

The term in Jamaica has been pushed up to life plus 95 years so the diagram needs updating.[1] Qirtaiba (talk) — Preceding undated comment was added at 00:58, 17 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Fixing Armenia's term edit

Armenia's copyright term is actually life+70 years (not 50), so the color needs to be darkened a couple notches. Chaojoker (talk) 19:40, 27 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

United states edit

US now applies as the general rule:

  • as the core rule, life + 70 ;
  • for corporate authorship, the first year among publication + 95 and creation + 120.

Exceptions could be found on this summary table: Peter B. Hirtle, Copyright Term and the Public Domain in the United States, Cornell Copyright Information Center, Cornell University, 2013.

  • Added Uzbekistan (life +50)
  • Lost USA and "No copyright" from legend

I removed the inaccuracy tempplates, hope we are OK Now.Any other changes needed, leave comments here. Perhaps I'll also change the colour scheme, not entirely satisfied with this one - Badseed talk 01:30, 2 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Legislation in Spain edit

I disagree, the chart should give an overview of the current term of protection (for new works) and not the term of protection given a transitional provision in the local legislation. I propose to revert this change and set Spain to live + 70 as is the state for all new works (after December 7th 1987. --Martsniez (talk) 09:37, 14 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

North America edit

I think with the new agreement between Mexico-US-Canada, the length is now life+70 years for all three countries. Amqui (talk) 01:10, 6 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Canada's goes up, but i do not think Mexico's will go down (nor will the americans apply it to pre-1978 works). the wording is something like "for a minimum of...". the game is stacked so that copyright can be made longer, but not shorter. Lx 121 (talk) 09:41, 13 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

South Korea edit

term is now life +70, apparently; starting a few years ago. possibly related to the free trade deal between sk & usa. the americans have been pushing that in every trade deal they sign, for some time. Lx 121 (talk) 09:41, 13 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Updated to life +70. ‑‑YodinT 13:27, 14 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Indonesia edit

Indonesia's copyright protection is not life +70 years, based on |Indonesian Copyright Law no.28/2014 article 58. Please update the current picture. Thank you.

06Ivonne (talk) 04:46, 9 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

@06Ivonne The law you linked to, plus the wikipedia articles on Indonesian copyright law all seem to say that it's life +70 years (or 50 years after publication for Work by legal entities, Anonymous works, Photographic works, Cinematographic works, Derived works, or Collected works). The map is for the copyright term after the life of an author, so life +70 seems right (which the map reflects). Please can you clarify if you think this is wrong. ‑‑YodinT 13:31, 14 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
It looks like this was updated to life +70 in December 2020 by Gunarta (WMID). ‑‑YodinT 15:47, 14 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thanks @Thiago Rodrigues30. I've made updated versions of this map and File:World copyright-terms nokey.svg with Canada as life +70, and made a note to upload them at the start of 30 December. ‑‑YodinT 16:33, 20 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
