Computer graphics (e.g. files .PNG) should be marked with {{Gnuplot|n}}
Vector graphics should be checked for their W3C-validity and then marked either by {{Gnuplot|v}} or {{Gnuplot|err=##}}

To allow a swift check for validity, the generated box "This plot was created with gnuplot" can be used:

the Italic written plot is a link to the W3C-validator.
