Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content).

You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki.

Getting help

More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump.

Goodies, tips, and tricks

Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
There are several tools to upload files.
Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.

Made a mistake?

Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it.
Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Ménage sur un SVG edit

Salut,

Juste pour te prévenir que j’ai un ménage assez drastique sur ton fichier File:Carte rennes cantons bureaux de vote 2012.svg. Celui vient de passer de 430 à 21 kio. J’y suis un peu allé à la hache et notamment visuellement j’ai changé deux-trois points : le texte est maintenant en police DejaVu Sans (pour Commons, il faut choisir une des polices installées sur les serveurs, liste ici : meta:SVG fonts), j’ai colorié tout les cantons de la même couleur (mais j’ai un doute, il me semble que les frontières sont suffisantes, qu’en penses-tu ?), j’ai légèrement réduit la taille des cercles (passage du rayon de 13.637059 à 13), j’ai aussi déplacé deux-trois points des frontières pour les placer sous la Vilaine. J’espère ne pas avoir trahi ton intention graphique initiale. Dans le cas contraire, n’hésite pas à me le signaler.

Si visuellement on reste très proche de ton original, au niveau du code par contre j’ai tout changé. J'ai crée des calques et des groupes pour mutualiser les styles (comme en CSS, on définit le style une fois plutôt que de le définir pour chaque objet). Les cercles sont maintenant de vrais cercles. Tu avais aussi oublié des diagrammes en camembert hors du champs visible et il y avait des données personnelles cachés dans le code (le chemin d’accès des fichiers sur ton ordinateur). Etc. etc. etc.

Bref, il faudrait que l’on parle de la technique en détail et en direct. Par ailleurs, cela m’intéresse très fortement de savoir comment tu as crée cette carte (à partir des données OpenData j’imagine mais tu as oublié de mentionner la source sur ton fichier :P). Bref, je me dis qu’il y a vraiment matière à faire un atelier SVG (peut-être le 12 mai, j’y réfléchis).

Wiki Loves Earth France 2019 a commencé ! edit

Bonjour ,

J'ai le plaisir de vous annoncer que la cinquième édition du concours Wiki Loves Earth en France est ouverte !

Le concours concernera 368 zones de toute la France, des parcs nationaux jusqu’aux réserves naturelles régionales englobant ainsi des paysages et biotopes variés.

Pendant le mois de mai, n'hésitez pas à mettre en ligne des photos de ces zones que vous auriez sur vos disques durs ou à vous rendre dans une zone concernée près de chez vous (à l'aide de la carte). Le règlement est disponible sur la page du concours.

Les plus belles photos seront sélectionnées par un jury national composé de commonistes, d'acteurs de l'environnement et de photographes professionnels. Un jury international constituera ensuite une sélection des meilleures photographies mondiales. Vous pourrez retrouver toutes les informations détaillées sur le site du concours

P.S. : si vous ne pouvez pas participer au concours cette année, faites passer le message autour de vous pour que de nouveaux et nouvelles photographes rejoignent l'aventure !

Wiki Loves Monuments 2023 è iniziato: partecipa anche tu! edit

ricevi questo messaggio perché in passato hai partecipato a Wiki Loves Monuments Italia o Wiki Loves Earth Italia.

Anche quest’anno torna Wiki Loves Monuments: da oggi al 30 settembre puoi partecipare caricando le tue foto per contribuire a illustrare il patrimonio culturale italiano: vai sul sito wikilovesmonuments.it e scopri come fare!

Oltre ai 20.000 monumenti già in concorso, quest’anno si aggiungono più di 60.000 edifici religiosi, tema centrale di quest’edizione. Prendi la tua macchina fotografica, o il tuo smartphone, e individua i monumenti in concorso tramite la nuova web-app – disponibile sia da mobile che desktop – app.wikilovesmonuments.it, da cui potrai anche caricare direttamente i tuoi scatti. Sono ammesse anche foto scattate prima del concorso, purché siano inedite.

A livello nazionale verranno premiate le dieci migliori fotografie: cinque per gli edifici religiosi e cinque per le altre categorie di monumenti; queste immagini parteciperanno anche alla fase internazionale del concorso. Non sono ammesse immagini con watermark o cornici, né fotografie eccessivamente elaborate in postproduzione. Ciao Auregann, grazie per aver partecipato all’edizione italiana di Wiki Loves Monuments 2023!

È stato un anno da record, con oltre 52.000 immagini caricate su Wikimedia Commons, di cui già 2.800 utilizzate sui progetti Wikimedia (numero destinato ad aumentare). Stiamo davvero documentando il patrimonio culturale italiano insieme!
