Our first steps tour and our FAQ will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy. You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold contributing here and assume good faith for the intentions of others. This is a wiki—it is really easy. More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (direct access). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at Commons talk:Licensing. |

Hello, and welcome to Commons. Please don't upload images from google. They can't be used here without permission. Commons accept only freely licensed material. See Commons:Licensing. Thank you - Badseed talk 15:44, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
Image Tagging Image:Trencin.gif edit
Thanks for uploading Image:Trencin.gif. This image is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or send an email with copy of a written permission to OTRS (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org).
Unless the permission information is given, the image may be speedy deleted after seven days. Thank you. ViperSnake151 (talk) 12:10, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for providing images to Wikimedia Commons. Please keep in mind that images and other files on Commons must be under a free license and should be useful to the Wikimedia projects. To allow others to use your files, some additional information must be given on the description page. Most importantly:
- Describe what it is about in a short sentence. (What does the image show?)
- State the author and the date of creation. If you made it yourself, say so explicitly. If it is from another Wikimedia user, link to the person's local user page. Best to use CommonsHelper.
- If you did not create the file yourself, state the source you got it from.
- Add a copyright tag - images without an appropriate license tag will be deleted.
- Add the image to one or more gallery pages and/or appropriate categories, so it can be found by others. To find out where an image belongs, you can use CommonsSense.
If you copied the file from another wiki, please copy all information given there and say who uploaded it to that wiki. Use CommonsHelper.
It is recommended to use Template:Information to put that information on the description page. Have a look at Template talk:Information for details of the use of this template.
You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file.
Please add as much information as possible. If there is not sufficient information, the file may have to be deleted. For more information, follow the Commons:First steps guide. If you need help or have questions, please ask at the Help desk.
Thank you.

Image deletion warning | Image:Armor_For_Sleep.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry. If you created this image, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. |

Pay attention to copyright edit
Hi Gazela, i deleted all your uploads because all your uploads appear to be copyright violations ripped of the web. Please read Commons:Licensing. Multichill (talk) 04:06, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
Please link images edit
Hello Gazela!
Thank you for providing images to Wikimedia Commons. Please keep in mind that images uploaded to Commons should be useful to all users of Wikimedia projects. This is possible only if the images can be found by other people.
To allow others to find the images you uploaded here, the images should be in some place that can be found by navigating the category structure. This means that you should put the images into appropriate topic pages, categories, optionally galleries, or both of them (see Commons:Categories). To find good categories for your images, the CommonSense tool may help.
You can find a convenient overview of your uploaded files in this gallery.
The important point is that the images should be placed in the general structure somewhere. There are a large number of completely unsorted images on Commons right now. If you would like to help to place some of those images where they can be found, please do!

Thanks for uploading Image:SpartajTT.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:Image:SpartajTT.jpg]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

Authorship claims edit
You have claimed to be the author of the files listed below. If you have uploaded a copyright violation and the copyright holder wishes to take legal action, you alone are legally responsible. The MediaWiki software keeps information about you which may be shared with lawyers.
Please help avoid unnecessary blocks and deletions by resolving this matter in one of the following ways:
- If the works are indeed your own, please upload high-resolution original files (rather than images scaled down to "web resolution") and clearly label the source of the files as being your own work. Again, you are solely responsible for such claims.
- If any of the files you have uploaded are not your own work despite your previous claims, please tag them with {{Copyvio}}, and they will be deleted by an administrator.
If your account is blocked, you will be temporarily unable to upload files to Commons. In the meantime, please read the licensing policy to make sure the content you upload is allowed. The duration of the block may depend on the number of files to be verified and the findings of the investigation. --AVRS (talk) 16:41, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Some problems with your uploads edit
Hi, a short description of the terms i will use:
- Permission: The author (photographer) gave you his written permission that EVERYONE (not only Wikipedia) can use the image for EVERY PURPOSE including commercial purposes (not only educational purposes)
- Source: Where exactly is the image publicated? Who is the photographer?
I marked your images missing source/permission or both as follow:
- File:Fcst.jpg: Taken from a Trnava ultras website? Written permission from the photographer?
- File:Belasaslachta.jpg: Taken from Slovan ultras webiste? Permission?
- File:SpartajTT.jpg: Written Permission from FC Spartak Trnava that everyone can use this image for every purpose including money making purposes?
- File:Ondrus.jpg: Source and permission. from Futbal magazín, you are the person who scanned it, but you are NOT the author! So: Who is the photographer, which magazin. Provide sources and a permission from the photographer.
- File:Schrojf.jpg: Source (which magazine? photographer?), permission from the photographer?
- File:Moravcik.jpg: Photographer? Permission?
- File:Kubala.jpg: Photographer? Permission?
- File:Pecko.jpg: Futbal magazine? Which magazine, who is the photographer? Permission?
- File:Logo-slovan.jpg: The website where the image is taken from says nothing about a permission that everyone can use the image. So: Where is the image from and why should everyone use it for every purpose?
- File:Popluhar.jpg: Encyklopedie fotbalu, ah... correct source, Photographer? Permission from the Photographer? You dont even provide a permission from the Encyklopedie...
- File:Logo (4).jpg: Permission from FCL DNV?
- File:Slov.gif: Permission from Slovan Bratislava?
- File:F 350 erb obr.gif: Permission? Google images is a very bad source for free images...
Please correct this or your images will be deleted in 7 days. Please do not upload nonfree images without the authors permission. --Martin H. (talk) 17:39, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
