Dear Isogood. You have uploaded File:Ceilings of the palais Garnier in Paris, 04.jpg which you have previously published on Flickr, but is marked as "all rights reserved" there. If you indeed want to release this photo under the CC-BY-SA 4.0 license, then please mark the image as published under that license on Flickr too. Flickr allows you to change the license. If you cannot change the license there, you will have to offer some other proof that this is really a photo you have made.

If you have uploaded other images that you have previously posted on Flickr too, then please mark the license of those ones as well on Flickr. In the future, if you upload another image that you have published on Flickr, it can would be nice if you linked the Flickr page for the individual image description in the Commons description too.

If you get this message too late and this image is already deleted from Commons by the time you mark the license on Flickr, please request undeleting the image as detailed on Commons:Undeletion requests, rather than reuploading.

Flickr2Commons edit

I have just come across a few images you have recently uploaded from Flickr. I would appreciate it if in the future, you used the Flickr2Commons tool. This tool allows images to be moved to Commons from Flickr without having to download the images to your own computer. It also brings in the largest resolution of the image, as well making sure to list the correct license and url, making it easy for the automated Flickr Review system. Also, it is fairly easy to categorize images with this tool. Elisfkc (talk) 14:46, 29 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Elisfkc Hello Thank you for your help and patience with newcomers. So you're right, in the futre I will use Flickr2commons tool if I need to upload from Flickr. Other way, I will remove the image from flickr before uploadind on commons as my own work. I will take care to give to my images the requested license for commons and... I think I understand how to sign my messages now ! Freat, so i continue to work and upload, and with the help of the community hope to be a good contributor in some weeks... thanks again Patrick Isogood (talk) 06:52, 30 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Image problems edit

Hi Isogood, here is some friendly advise as you are a newcomer, so proably are not familiar with all of the ins and outs; I'm here 10+ years and certainly don't know everything either. I saw you uploaded several nice old painting from a Paris museum, but in several of them you state you are the author. Of course that's not exactly true, so even though you are the person who took the photos, you are not the artist and I see that for some you have already added the artist's details, so should not make that claim on the rest. Essentially you already state that you are the photographer on the "source" field, but please provide the details of the original artist for the rest and also provide a description for all the paintings, especially its title and date because these are missing. There is a specific template for paintings like thers which has several appropriate fields, so maybe you can replace the {{Information}} template with the {{Artwork}} template (click on the link to see the full details) and use as many fields as you possibly can. Additionally I should point out that photos of 2D works are just a derivative work, so its copyright license is relative to the the death date of the artist of the painting which in most of these images is likely {{PD-old-auto-1996}}. When you have revised them I'll be happy to give them a quick review again. Just ping me. Ww2censor (talk) 22:44, 30 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
