For the recent videos from Wikimania I didn't upload any subtitles, it was done by other user. You could find their username in the TimedText tab on the top left corner of any file page, and then open the History tab for appropriate subtitles language. What I actually did for Wikimania files - I added the template indicating the Closed Captioning addition to the file on the file page. Besides that, I often add closed captions to the videos or update subtitles thanks to my expirience in captioning for TED Conference — Pacha Tchernof (talk) 13:55, 11 November 2021 (UTC)

Всім привіт! Мене звати Назарій Давидовський і разом зі мною жіночий хор «Соломія» Вінницького гуманітарно-педагогічного коледжу. І це: Флешмоб «Щедрик100challenge».

Сьогодняшнього дня ми зібралися, для того аби відсвяткувати 100-літній ювілей від дня першого публічного виконання всесвітньо відомої обробки Миколи Дмитровича Леонтовича «Щедрик».

Отже: «Щедрик100challenge» — умови флешмобу:

• ви повинні записати відео власного виконання «Щедрика», хорове або індивідуальне;
• розмістити його на каналі «YouTube» та у соціальних мережах;

Вітаю @ValeriySh: Thank you so much for the fastest responce upon my request! I added the subtitles in Ukrainian to the video. Right now I have a lot of other things to do, so I plan to make translations into English and Russian a bit later, if no one makes them before me (which I would be very happy about, actually).

Also, I added one template to the file page from which anyone could create translation subtitles by using Ukranian subtitles as a draft. It is really not hard to do by that template as it could seems at the first glance. If you have any fellow tranlsators in Wikipedia, feel free to invite them to colaborate on this little project :)

Sure, I have been asking about a review and probably an update of the {{Closed captions}} template translation in Swedish according to the recent changes in the same template in English. Hi DemonDays64! In the parental Images that should use vector graphics category, there is a link to the script User:Inkwina/catlistcount.py. Hi @PJ Geest! It is defenetly interesting, but I have only two hands and a limited amount of time :) I noticed that category while adding the subs to the mentionned video, but as you can see, I didn't finish the subtitles in English, so I cannot speak up on adding other subtitles when some of them left unfinished.

At the same time, there are good news for you! The subtitles in Dutch is available for YouTube versions of the videos uploaded to Commons. If you know how to download them from YT, you could upload them into the videos on Commons adding {{Closed captions}} template to the files' descriptions. Hey, @PJ Geest, it sounds great! I download them with the Chrome extension titled "Youtube Subtitle Downloader", it's most useful extension I ever used, but if it is not compatible with your browser, I'm sure you could find anything similar or even use some sort of YouTube Subtitles Download website for getting subtitles from YT: there are plenty of them in the Google.

Regarding the article about the Hymn: [Julia Ward] Howe wrote her lyrics to the music of the song "John Brown's Body" in November 1861… I would suggest to move the song to any date of November, 2022 and write in description about the lyrics's sort of anniversary. @Well-Informed Optimist, не совсем понятно при чём тут "производная работа". Наверное, имелось в виду, что источник файла сам по себе ставится под сомнение? (Только сейчас обратил внимание на страницу обсуждения участника, загрузившего файл вся в предупреждениях об удалении). всего лишь обрезал края рентгенографического снимка инструментов Викисклада CropTool и загрузил новую версию файла, но это не отдельный (derrivative from other) файл. Image-cleanup work

Thanks for your work on the image-cleanup queues! At File:Riboflavinspectra.jpg you commented out a cleanup tag because you apparently didn't see the mistakes that I (the tagger) did and said you "requested additional information about what exactly should be corrected". But I don't see any such request actually being made in a way that anyone except those who watchlisted the page and read the history carefully would notice. It's easy to see from the history who tagged it, so it would be more productive to ask them or leave the tag alone; the effect otherwise is that you appear to be asserting that they are wrong and nobody working further on it. Luckily I still had this one watchlisted from 8 years ago. DMacks (talk) 19:12, 17 June 2022 (UTC)

@DMacks, thanks for noticing I am working on with! I'm glad you've noticed my edit and stated what the typos were made on that file. Actually, I was ready for messages from the past editors as well as from any future editors who might notice typos and edit file description. This was my plan to cleanup the media and remove the typos and the tag as I watchlisted the file.

Directly speaking, the queue in the main directory of Category:Media for cleanup was about 400 images, now it's 244. While working with different type of images and requests there, actually, it wasn't "easy to see from the history who tagged it", so after several attempts to find the tagger, I left that idea (For example, your edit summary "typos" I usually read as "I fixed the typos" not as "I requested to fix the typos"). Probably, I chose not the best word for the invisible comment ("request") asking to state what are the typos. I apologize for that! Anyway, I'm pleased by this thread. Thanks for your message! Caption timing?

Hello! I noticed you cleaned up the timing in my captions on the Death Mills documentary. I cannot thank you enough for that! I was researching how to fix that before I saw your edits, thank you again. If you do not mind sharing, can you tell me how you did this to match the exact time? (ie milliseconds) How did you know which second to start the caption at? There is nowhere for me to see the exact time (Ie, 00:02:02 or 00::03:34,375.)

Hello @Accessibleworlds! I’m glad to collaborate on creating subtitles or sync the existing transcription and your message on my talk page is actually enough as a thank to me and even much more!

Your question is a complicated one to answer but I’l try. I suppose my hearing abilities and my degree in music help me syncing texts with audios as much accurate as I do, so subtitles appearing at the exact time to provide the best experience for the viewers. Actually, I work now as a subtitler.

And yeah, I would be glad to collaborate on completing the subtiltes for the mentionned video! For example, if you could finish the transcription, I could make the sync. Let me know if it fits for you!

Template:Wiki Loves Monuments 2022/layout

Дальтонизм

Здравствуйте! В статье "Дальтонизм" вы поместили созданный вами рисунок: File:Some_types_of_color_blindness.svg.

Безусловно, это полезный труд, но, мне кажется, в цветах допущены ошибки. Например, мы знаем, что при протанопии отсутствуют или не работают красные колбочки (#FF0000), но действуют зелёные (#00FF00) и синие (#0000FF). Значит, при протанопии красный цвет должен превратиться в чёрный(#000000), далее оранжевый цвет (#FFA500) - в тёмно-зелёный (#00A500), затем жёлтый (#FFFF00) - в зелёный (#00FF00), наконец, лиловый (#FF00FF) - в синий ((#0000FF)). Но на рисунке я вижу совсем другие цвета. Аналогично и по другим типам дальтонизма.

С другой стороны, может быть, я не учитываю какого-то важного фактора, а ваш рисунок создан не простым расчётом, а с учётом этого фактора (или просто по какому-то научному источнику)?Ufim (talk) 16:34, 19 February 2023 (UTC)

Приветствую, @Ufim! Эта иллюстрация была создана мною в рамках мини-проекта по замене иллюстраций в формате .jpg, .png на иллюстрации в формате .svg.

Оригинальная иллюстрация, к сожалению, была удалена из ру.вики — Файл:Зрение_нормальное_и_дальтоническое.JPG. И так как в описании конечного файла мною не было приведено информации на источники, значит, я в точности повторил оригинальную иллюстрацию, в которой не было ссылок на источники.

@Fargoh, мне кажется, что неправы именно Вы. Ваши требования противоречат условиям лицензии, которую Вы сами же выбрали. Прочтите внимательно краткое описание или полный текст лицензии, и попробуйте найти там место для подобных ограничений. Вам бы больше подошла лицензия CC-BY-ND, но она исключает возможность загрузки таких изображений на Викисклад. Поэтому если хотите, чтобы Ваши карты попали в Википедию - смиритесь с тем, что они будут без рекламных пометок, а ссылка на авторство будет только на странице описания, как у всех. Не согласен с вами. Лицензия CC BY-SA 4.0 подразумевает соответствующее указание атрибуции, оговоренное правообладателем. Оговорка присутствует в источнике. Удаление атрибуции возможно только с согласия правообладателя, что противоречит оговорке.

Ключевое здесь - "соответствующее". Это вовсе не любая фантазия правообладателя. Вы вправе оговорить, что именно будет указано в качестве атрибуции (тут это можно зафиксировать прямо в шаблоне лицензии, заполнив параметр |attribution=), но не можете диктовать, как это будет сделано. Форму, в которой атрибуция будет указываться, выбирает лицензиат, в зависимости от контекста использования. Контекст использования изображений в качестве иллюстраций Википедии не подразумевает внедрения атрибутирующих сведений непосредственно в изображение. На самом деле, и плашка с названием и пояснением там тоже лишняя. Можно дополнительно прочесть Commons:Watermarks, Commons:Enforcing license terms и связанные материалы.

В случае Вашей карты сейчас условия лицензии никак не мешают просто сделать производную работу, загрузив отдельный файл с убранными лишними надписями и пометками, и использовать именно его.

Понял, большое спасибо за разъяснение. А в каких случаях видимый знак правообладателя допустим для размещения на изображении? Согласно правилам, описанным здесь, видимые водяные знаки, которые не являются ни деструктивными, ни рекламными, «не запрещены». Так как я создаю свои инфографики не только для Википедии, я заинтересован в том, чтобы прямо на изображении было указана ссылка на канал или хотя бы его название. Смотрите. Ваши мотивы как автора понятны, я их уважаю и прошу не рассматривать всё выше- и нижесказанное как их игнорирование или что-то иное.
Тут смешиваются сразу несколько тем, и если их не разделить, то вообще ничего обсуждать не удается.
1. Формальный подход. То, что оно в принципе допустимо - не означает, что оно всем нравится. Это значит, что файл на этом основании не удалят, и только. Поскольку лицензия (как я сказал выше) не запрещает удалять такой текст, кто угодно имеет право его удалить, никого не спрашивая и не нарушая условий лицензии. К слову, сейчас метаданные файла (EXIF) ничем осмысленным не заполнены. А ведь сведения об авторстве стоило бы поместить в первую очередь именно туда. Вот эти-то данные точно никто был бы не вправе удалять.
2. Уместность. Ваш знак очень броский, к тому же включает логотип Телеграма, что выглядит совсем уж чрезмерным. Небольшая по размеру надпись, размещенная вертикально в правом нижнем углу (к примеру), не вызвала бы, вероятно, такого отторжения. Но см. п.1.
3. Творческий вклад. Есть разные виды изображений, подразумевающие больший или меньший творческий вклад. Одно дело - с нуля отрисовать сложную трехмерную схему или анимацияю. И немного иное - сделать, по сути, служебный вспомогательный файл, где все "красивости" (не умаляя их качества) являются необязательными и выглядят несколько избыточными. Т.е. я бы всё-таки подходил к этому так, что участие в Википедии (и работа для ВП) - это в первую очередь благотворительность, без расчета на славу. И те задания, которые участники берут для исполнения в "графической мастерской", обычно такие, служебные, не требующие авторского самовыражения. И даже наоборот - желательно, чтобы такие файлы были максимально похожи на что-то уже имеющееся, в том же роде. --Kaganer (talk) 23:20, 30 March 2023 (UTC)

Согласен с вами в отношении уместности знака — для компромисса я пересмотрю его формат и расположение — сделаю менее вызывающим.

Также согласен по поводу творческого вклада — стараюсь соблюдать стилистику при переводе или адаптации служебных изображений и буду так делать в будущем. Но иногда я натыкаюсь на интересные мне темы, по которым хочется создать что-то в стиле своего канала. Зачастую это вообще не связано с Википедией, либо связано опосредованно (например, беру отсюда данные). И уже после создания инфографики, я добавляю созданное изображение в Википедию, полагая, что оно будет полезным и интересным для читателей.

Например, инфографика для статьи фриганизм создавалась вообще без обращения к Википедии. Сюда я добавил ее уже после того, как узнал, что есть такое движение, потому что изображение как раз на эту тему. Как мне поступить в будущем, если снова возникнет конфликт на почве размещения ссылки на мой канал на изображении? Если лицензия CC BY SA 4.0 допускает удаление ссылки, а другие лицензии, которые не допускают удаление ссылки не подходят для Викисклада — как быть? Можно ли оформить какое-то персональное формальное разрешение через VRT, которое позволяло бы мне постить некоторые инфографики здесь, и чтобы это не вызывало конфликт с участниками, которые захотят удалить ссылку? — Fargoh (talk) 00:09, 1 April 2023 (UTC)

Отдельно выскажу мнение, о котором меня, правда, не спрашивали. На мой взгляд (и это, как мне кажется, общепринятый здесь подход), карты и графики, чтобы считаться полезными, должны быть:
1. в векторном формате
2. без надписей, требующих локализации; а если с надписями, то в виде текста, а не кривых (для максимального облегчения повторного использования и адаптации к любому другому языку)
