There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful information about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

Hello, RGloucester!

Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

File:Simon_Frith.jpg edit

File:Simon_Frith.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Edinburgh Trams pics edit

Thanks for your message. The tracklaying finished some months ago and the streets have returned to normal. If one photographs them now, they are virtually clear of traffic (apart from taxis and buses) and show new tramlines in place. In other words, they are visually less interesting than pics showing the tracklaying in progress. People are now reporting seeing the odd tram being tested, and it's likely the service will start some time soon. When that happens, I'll be trying to capture trams on the move during their first days in service. Meantime, you could go to the www.geograph website and enter "Edinburgh tramworks" (or "Edinburgh trams/tramlines" etc.) and you may find more recently taken pics than those on the existing page, but again from the construction phase. If you do find any you think more suitable and they happen to be mine, let me know. I can then upload the same pics to Commons. Kim Traynor (talk) 17:48, 17 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

On geograph, put "Shandwick Place", "Tramworks at the West End" and "Tramline construction, York Place" for my most recent photographs of the construction work. "Almost back to normal" will bring up a view of Princes Street shortly before it was re-opened to traffic. Kim Traynor (talk) 18:37, 17 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
Hello again. I've just posted five photographs taken today (10th March), showing Edinburgh trams in their driver training phase. They are entitled "Edinburgh tram, driver training" 1, 2 and 3 and "Edinburgh trams, driver training" 1 and 2. Perhaps you would care to select which of them might be worth posting on the Edinburgh trams page? Kim Traynor (talk) 17:23, 10 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
I much appreciate your pictures. I already sent a brief message on your Wikipedia talk page. Thanks very much! RGloucester (talk) 17:42, 12 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Please Help Update File:2014 pro-Russian unrest in Ukraine.svg edit

According to latest news (no need to cite here, I think), Luhansk Oblast is also under armed insurgency right now. Please kindly check it. Thank you for your contribution! :) 霎起林野间 (talk) 11:12, 2 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

It hasn't yet evolved into armed insurgency in Luhansk. There are merely more government buildings occupied, but no insurgency at yet. We'll see what happens in the coming days. RGloucester (talk) 15:19, 2 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Please read Commons:Overwriting existing files edit

Hi RGloucester. I have reverted your recent upload overwriting a file. If you wish for your variation of the file to be hosted at Commons, then please upload it with a new name. Files have to be considered in a historical context not solely in the moment, which is also worthwhile considering in the naming where a date is relevant to a developing situation.  — billinghurst sDrewth 01:04, 24 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

@Billinghurst: I'm confused. This was merely an update of the old map, not a new file. I just updated the colour scheme to correspond with the updates at the English-language version of the file, File:2014 pro-Russian unrest in Ukraine.png. The old one was outdated, and hadn't been updated since April. I've been updating the English and French versions, but I forgot about the Spanish one. RGloucester (talk) 01:31, 24 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
It looks significantly different, so is not a simple minor improvement. That makes it a new file where it is someone else's initial work.  — billinghurst sDrewth 02:51, 24 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
I made the original file, and the original colour scheme… RGloucester (talk) 03:18, 24 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Image of 2014 Insurgency in Donbass edit

Hi, RGloucester, nice to meet you. I've just traslated the names from the original map of the Ukrainian crisis, and probably made wrong changes in Horlivka. Please, feel free to update the map and make the changes that you consider necessary. —Turkmenistan (talk) 00:07, 26 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

I'm not very good at messing with maps, on the whole. The best idea is to mirror exactly File:East Ukraine conflict.png. My concern is that this new map might not get updated as frequently as the old one. Since I'm not good with maps, and I can't really do anything about it. RGloucester (talk) 00:11, 26 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
No problem. I will update it daily. --Turkmenistan (talk) 00:55, 26 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Battalions of territorial defense patches of Ukraine edit

Hope that my message finds you well, my dear RGloucester. I understand that you are trying to help, thank you very much! But in this particular case it will rather interfere with replenishing this category with new images, as it already did. With best wishes, --Nabak (talk) 17:18, 17 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, no. We must follow proper English, for one thing, and for another, you've incorrect labelled the battalions. They are no part of the "army", nor the "national guard". They are directly under the Internal Affairs ministry. RGloucester (talk) 19:46, 19 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

January 2015 nor'easter (AKA Juno) edit

You redirected the [Category:January 2015 nor'easter] to [Category:Winter Storm Juno]. You should know that naming winter storms is not official and very controversial. To avoid controversy, I think it would be prudent if this category were to be redirected back to "January 2015 nor'easter", as this is along the lines of [Category:February 2013 nor'easter]. Apologies for not linking, but I don't usually post in Commons and the formatting is... different than what I use on en.wiki. Paris1127 (talk) 03:33, 29 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
