Eigentlich hatte ich mir ja vorgenommen...

Hallo Smial, was da ein Kollege täglich liefert, hat – von Ausnahmen abgesehen – meines Erachtens nichts mit Qualitätsfotos zu tun. Er hält die Kamera hin, wenn irgendwo in einer Ecke ein Auto steht, und drückt ab. Was dabei herauskommt, stellt er hier vor und sogar der einst so strenge Peulle ist zufrieden, wenn nicht gar begeistert. Vor paar Jahren waren die Ansprüche höher. In meinem Fall kam allerdings noch hinzu, dass ich gelegentlich widersprochen hatte und deshalb keine Chance auf eine gute Beurteilung mehr zu erwarten hatte.  Oppose Scope is confusing and the COM:VIS "generic field or category within which your image is the most valuable example" is not clearly stated. The subject appears to be the Jaguar S.S. 100 (1938) race car but scope link is the ADAC Mittelrhein Classic 2013 race, not the Category:SS Jaguar 100 for the car model. •  Comment Normally, I would have just commented with a scope change request but just as clarity for all, there are two issues in my oppose – one fixable and the other not.

  

  2013-05-04 (9613b) Jaguar SS 100, Bj. 1938

The scope with this nomination is confusing and I proposed "Jaguar S.S. 100 (1938) model car at the ADAC Mittelrhein Classic 2013 race" with a scope link to Category:SS Jaguar 100 as a more suitable scope and an easy fix.

The second issue is that with this better scope (or the original confusing one), IMO there is also a better and more valuable image take by Spurzem for this nomination. I would be receptive to listening to a further case for this image, but consider the other one to be better (same car model, less clutter in the background) and more valuable.

IMO the best path forward for VI success would be to withdraw this image and renominate the better one with the revised scope. --GRDN711 (talk) 17:02, 17 May 2022 (UTC)

 Comment I generally find your English to be excellent and did not get that impression from your original scope. Suggest you change this image scope to reflect what you say - a scope of the event - "ADAC Mittelrhein Classic" with a scope category link to "Category:ADAC Mittelrhein Classic". Remove the extra superfluous descriptive elements about the Jaguar car, or include them in the image description. But here nevertheless again: We have two pictures, ones with the front and ones with the rear of the car. If you open your eyes you should see it too. Or are we getting to the point that just one photo of any one car is valuable because there are thousands of others? He keeps behaving that way because people tolerate it or avoid interacting with him. Hi Spurzem and @Lallint: - I happened on File:Midtown Towers, Watertown, New York.jpg while dealing with unidentified bird photos. Although it is a Valued image, there are two points I find not good with its current version; (1) the perspective correction has been overdone, so the tower looks broader at the top than the bottom, and (2) the bird at the top left now has its own 'separate block' of sky from a cut-and-paste action, which looks very odd. Could you perhaps do a new version with less strong perspective correction? The bird is insignificant in the photo; so if the perspective correction takes it outside of the frame, it is not worth re-inserting: better no bird, than a bird in a block of 'fake' sky.
