Japanese specification automobiles in the United Kingdom edit

Might this Toyota be another one? It certainly (1) has a steering wheel on the correct side and (2) isn't a standard UK market spec vehicle. But I don't know if that's enough ... Regards Charles01 (talk) 13:56, 19 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Plus same thoughts about the Nissans. Sorry, I hadn't meant to do such a trawl.

Round 2 of Picture of the Year 2017 is open! edit

You are receiving this message because you voted in R1 of the 2017 Picture of the Year contest, but not yet in R2.

Dear User3204,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2017 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the twelfth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2017) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. In Round 1, there were 1475 candidate images. There are 58 finalists in Round 2, comprised of the top 30 overall as well as the top 2 from each sub-category.

In the final round, you may vote for a maximum of three images. The image with the most votes will become the Picture of the Year 2017.

Round 2 will end on 22 July 2018, 23:59 UTC.

Thanks,
the Wikimedia Commons Picture of the Year committee 11:33, 17 July 2018 (UTC)

Renaming files edit

Hi, I am here to discuss with you about renaming some files you uploaded as the string of numbers in the filename is somewhat redundant.

Do want to listen to what you have to say about this. Please {{Ping}} me when you reply, thank you. 大诺史 (talk) 04:07, 26 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

@大诺史: Those numbers are the photo ID of those flickr photos and they were generated by the flickr2commons. There are loads of files contain those numbers in wikimedia commons as well. So what is the point of renaming it if every file does?--User3204 (talk) 04:13, 26 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
Its just a suggestion, so I'm fine if you don't want to rename it. Cheers. :) 大诺史 (talk) 04:15, 26 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
@大诺史: But I will also try my best for deleting the numbers on my next uploads if you require as well.--User3204 (talk) 04:27, 26 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Both rear view and front view. --Alex Neman (talk) 06:25, 25 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Alex Neman: But the XV40 has been already end production since 2013 according to English Wikipedia. Do you mean XV50 with the year of 2013-2017? —User3204 (talk) 07:38, 25 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
The XV50 is already sold in China in 2012, but the XV40 still sold in China, badged as the Camry Classical until 2013. --Alex Neman (talk) 07:44, 25 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
I am sorry to interfer in your discussion, but there is no difference between 2009-2012 Camry XV40 and the post-2013 Camry (XV40) Classical. GAC-Toyota put the Classical badge on the back of the car and added a new grille and some new details in headlights. I spotted only two Classical (I am not a big fan of this car, so I didn't spot a lot this one...). I don't know exactly when the Camry Classical production was stopped, but I think it was in 2015 when the XV50 facelift arrived. If you want, I can upload some pics Sincerely, Navigator84 Talk 15:14, 25 August 2019 (UTC+1)

Car pictures in China edit

Dear User3204, many thanks for your car pictures that you took in China. They are in great quality. I hope you can upload lots of them ! I would like to talk about some of your pictures : https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:1997_Dongfeng-Nissan_Bluebird.jpg : It's a Nissan Blurbird EQ7200-III - a larger and rebodied Bluebird U13. Produced from 2003 to 2005.

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:2000_Dongfeng-Nissan_Bluebird.jpg : this is the last version of rebodied Bluebird U13 produced in China. Probably produced from 2005 to 2007.

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:2006_Toyota_Voxy.jpg : are you sure it's a real Voxy ?

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:1994_Dongfeng-Citro%C3%ABn_Fukang_hatchback.jpg : it's a Fukang sedan. Late 1990s - early 2000s.

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:2014_Brilliance_Jinbei_Haixing_X30.jpg : I am not 100% sure, but I think it's a Shineray minivan. Shineray and Dongfeng's Chongqing branch has a cooperation in minivan/minitruck production.

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:2002_FAW_Tianjin_Yaku_(rear).jpg : it's the same car than the one which is known as Xiali 2000?

Thank you for all, best regards, Navigator84 Talk 15:59, 25 August 2019 (UTC+1)

Thanks for your attention to my Chinese car pics. I have made many mistakes about the model year and name because I‘m new to Chinese domestic market vehicle (such as the cars you have mentioned). Please correct or rename them if you have found any mistake. Thank you.
And secondly, I'm not pretty sure is that a real Voxy because Voxy only available for right-hand drive version as I know. But it looks exactly the same with a real Voxy even the badge were same. It probably imported from Hong Kong or Macau and converted to left-hand drive (I guess).
Thirdly, at first I thought it was a Xiali 2000 as well because they look exactly the same. But Kev (Kevauto) corrected me because of the FAW badge. Because the only visible difference between the Xiali 2000 and Yaku is their badge. Xiali 2000 got its own Xiali badge and Yaku got a FAW badge, “AT” badge (refers to its automatic transmission because Xiali 2000 only got manual transmission) and the rear Yaku badge.(Actually Yaku is a higher version of the Xiali 2000. And the higher version of the Yaku is the Tianjin Vela).
Anyway, thank you for your remind and your correction. Cheers —User3204 (talk) 15:55, 25 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
Oh wow ! I never noticed the FAW badge on the Xiali 2000-like sedan ... That's truly interesting. Yaku sedan was made probably for the transition time from Tianjin Xiali to FAW Tianjin. Many thanks !
Great Wall produced a Noah/Voxy-like minivan. That's why I asked if the car was a real Toyota.
I'm really enjoying the car market in China. Many cars I can't see here in Europe. I spot cars in China since 2012, and I am very happy to see new Commons user from China ! Navigator84 Talk 19:31, 26 August 2019 (UTC+1)

Duplicate deletion edit

Hi, thanks for your work on tagging duplicate images. However, next time please use {{Duplicate}} to tag the dupe image so that admins can speedy delete the dupes and avoid increasing the burden on DRs. --A1Cafel (talk) 03:29, 20 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

I didn't know that. Thank you for the remind. - User3204 (talk) 10:44, 20 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Duplication edit

In regards to your comment here ("It is exactly the same image with slightly different size. Are you gonna be relentlessly annoying a random user on wikimedia commons for fun all night?") - Unfortunately I don't make the rules, I just follow them!, Your uploads are cropped versions of the original images so therefore {{Duplicate}} doesn't apply (if we followed your logic we wouldn't have cropped images here).
In regards to the last part of your comment - I have better things to be doing with time than reverting you but still If I disagree with your edits then you will be reverted.

Don't duplicate-tag cropped images or mess around with them and I won't revert you :), Thank you, –Davey2010Talk 16:02, 4 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi User3204, you're now a filemover. When moving files please respect the following advice:

  • Use the CommonsDelinker link in the {{Rename}} template to order a bot to replace all ocurrences of the old title with the new one. Or, if there was no rename-request, please use the Move & Replace-tab.
  • Please leave a redirect behind unless you have a valid reason not to do so. Other projects, including those using InstantCommons, might be using the file even though they don't show up in the global usage. Deleting the redirects would break their file references. Please see this section of the file rename guideline for more information.
  • Please know and follow the file rename guidelines.
