Thanks for uploading File:Leroy and Mary Call Darby Collins.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

These photos come from the Florida Department of State website (www.floridamemory.com) and are considered public domain.

Please give images better names edit

I noticed you've uploaded File:Pt00625(1).jpg and I thought I should draw your attention to a common error. Please give uploaded files meaningful names. Otherwise they are difficult to track and it is hard to tell what the file is about without actually looking at it. I suggest you rename your image with an intuitive name that describes the file itself. Thanks, and happy editing!

I will keep that in mind. Like I said, these images were pulled from the Florida Memory website, which is part of the FLorida Department of State and is considered public domain.

Hi Wabnoles1: I fixed the tag showing the source, also the license and added category Category:Buildings of Tallahassee, Florida which it seemed to fit. You might find "old postcards of Florida too if you poke around the category structure. Working down the page from top to bottom, please do not be worried if they're not all fixed right this minute. This process takes time. Ellin Beltz (talk) 01:29, 19 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

This messaging template for wikipedia drives me insane. https://www.floridamemory.com/items/show/150396

Ok, so they're all detagged; this last batch wasn't removed - you have seven days from the day the tags show up to fix things - and even if stuff gets deleted we can restore it. On that thought, I'd even be interested in helping you get the older ones restored if you'd like help. I enlarged the descriptions of the pictures and wikilinked to articles (ex: the cute fairy princess later becomes the First Lady of Florida...). Search engines search the descriptions, so within reason - the longer the better. I'm sorry you don't like the message system; you're not alone in that, but you did the right thing and left me a howler on my talk page so I could come back and fix this stuff here! Again thank you for your patience in this regard, do please let me know - on my talkpage, if you want help with those other images. Cheers! Ellin Beltz (talk) 02:24, 19 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
