Copyright status: File:Flanders Field American Cemetery (Waregem) 5.JPG edit
This media may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading File:Flanders Field American Cemetery (Waregem) 5.JPG. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.
If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.) If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there. Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you. |

Adinkerke Churchyard Extension has been listed at Commons:Categories for discussion so that the community can discuss ways in which it should be changed. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry. If you created this category, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for discussion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it. If the category is up for deletion because it has been superseded, consider the notion that although the category may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new category. In all cases, please do not take the category discussion personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you! |

Groeten --Havang(nl) (talk) 11:45, 1 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi Wernervc, do you know the sculptor of the statue shown in File:Romain Deconinck 1-2.JPG? To me, it looks to be rather recent. Contrary to The Netherlands, Belgium has no Freedom_of_panorama exception for public works. --Túrelio (talk) 08:11, 3 April 2016 (UTC)

Hi! edit
You don't know but I just find a tiny mistake in a coordinate location on wikidata. I noticed that you're probably Belgian and I guess with the freedom of panorama now you have a lot to do.
I am preparing a tool about requested image and I wanted to ask which tool are you using now to find missing images? I like to share expertise with people, so I can make better tool. I've studied the topic for months so I can tell you later all i know if it helps.--Alexmar983 (talk) 00:07, 24 August 2016 (UTC)

Hello. I have used several of your pictures of CWGC headstones in some articles and wanted to let you know and thank you for the photographs. File:Ypres Reservoir Cemetery-13 (cropped).JPG (Francis Aylmer Maxwell), File:Sanctuary Wood Cemetery -12.JPG (Gilbert Talbot), and File:Voormezeele Enclosure n°3-12.JPG (George Llewelyn Davies). Did you know that these people had Wikipedia articles at the time you took the photos, or was it just chance? I hope there will be others as well. I will try and keep track of the additions I make. Copyright status: File:Gent - Wolweverskapel 17-3-2017 16-05-01-2-2.jpg edit
This media may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading File:Gent - Wolweverskapel 17-3-2017 16-05-01-2-2.jpg.
File:Bucquoy-road-cemetery-01-3.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.) Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

uncategorized images edit
Hi Wernervc, I've stumbled across some of your images when categorizing Category:All media needing categories as of 2016 and it seems that you are / have been using removal of categories as a strategy to select images for categories while not selecting quite similar ones. [1], [2]. Now, every image should be categorized and by removing all categories, you are creating a race condition with other commonists. I have put back the two similar images to the appropriate categories. What are your possibilities to get rid of the images you do not want?
- Upload a better version on top of the old image, instead of creating it twice (preferred possibility, but too late in current cases)
- Once you have uploaded quite similar images twice:
- request deletion as the uploader (but there is no guarantee, and not after a long time)
- request deletion as {{Duplicate}}
- request a merge (never tried this), will result in the same situation as when uploading a new version
- put {{Superseded}} to the image you do not want
- create a subcategory of the category in question and move unwanted images there (I use this only for really bad images)
Uncategorization is not an option. In the end, it is the one who uses your images who will select the appropriate one. See your 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 uncategorized images (~140). best --Herzi Pinki (talk) 08:52, 12 June 2018 (UTC)
