Lukull -> Çankaya

edit

I know this photograph is one of Lukull. But Mike's this blind revert is not appropriate. Because we (both Mike and me) used this source: MV Cankaya (Çankaya) (+1942). As long as I understand, this is a neutral source. Moreover Mike deleted correct information about this ship. Takabeg (talk) 13:37, 10 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Ships are categorized according to the current name. If the name of the ship on the photo is Lukull the photo should be in Category:Lukull (ship, 1886) only. And Lukull wasn't turkish ship so the Category:Ships of Turkey is not correct in such case. When somebody upload photo of Çankaya this new photo will be in Category:Çankaya (ship, 1886) and Category:Çankaya (ship, 1886) will become "mother" category for Category:Lukull (ship, 1886). See description on the page Category:Ships by name.--Mike1979 Russia (talk) 14:05, 10 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
I uploaded only one picture (of Lukull). But other users (maybe I) may upload pictures of this ship. Some of them will be of Lukull, some of them will be of Çankaya). As long as I know, projects of Wikimedia are sustainable projects. So we have to consider this point. As you say, Category:Lukull (ship, 1886) can be kept. But information about history must be in Category:Çankaya (ship, 1886). Thnak you. Takabeg (talk) 14:11, 10 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
Yes. When at least one photo of Çankaya appear in the wiki the history of the ship should be move in Category:Çankaya (ship, 1886).--Mike1979 Russia (talk) 14:20, 10 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
If the name "Çankaya" is important, we could add the category Category:Lukull (ship, 1886) into Category:Çankaya (ship, 1886) as we'd do if there is no IMO number. I made such a sample edit. --  Docu  at 17:45, 10 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
