Proposed mover to Category:Station buffers in the United Kingdom edit

  • Oppose My understanding is that buffers are on rail vehicles and the correct term (in the UK) for fixed devices at the end of a line is either 'buffer stop' or 'stop block'. English Wikipedia also uses this distinction and so it seems appropriate that we use it for the Commons categories. Geof Sheppard (talk) 13:38, 7 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
    • @Geof Sheppard: In which case I suggest renaming the other categories in this hierarchy to match this one. I don't know how to make such a proposal and don't have time right now to learn how so please feel free to do it yourself. If you do do that please consider this proposal withdrawn. I agree, but am in much the same position as you. I'll put it on my 'to do' list for some other time. Geof Sheppard (talk) 17:06, 9 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
