there are many pictures of this camp. The scope is very rich and it is difficult to decide. I need explanations from the nominator: why do you think this picture is the more valuable in the scope ?--Jebulon (talk) 22:32, 5 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You want to make it though to me? I think that the good thing of this image is that it shows an scene that could be perfectly photographed 70 years ago. In addition, the red color, he warning signal, as well as the barbed wire transmit a cold and sinister atmosphere, Poco a poco (talk) 20:39, 6 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think this image is the best in scope. It shows the main gate to Auschwitz I, with the arch overhead bearing the infamous slogan "Arbeit macht frei". I think the most valuable image for Auschwitz I should show this gate, and I find this to be the best such image we have. cmadler (talk) 17:19, 16 February 2012 (UTC) -- cmadler (talk)[reply]

There is more space in the photo so we get more information about the site and the buildings. Also the symbolism of the gate and the dynamism of the perspective strengthen the impression. -- MrPanyGoff
Oppose I'm opposed to this one, because the sign is so hard to read. Of "ARBEIT", the raised gate on the left partially obscures the "A", the "R" is hard to see against the window, and the upside-down "B" is hard to see against the underside of the eaves. On the other side, the "T" from "MACHT" and most of "FREI" are lost against the dark leafless trees. If we are going to use an image of this sign, it should be easily legible against the background. cmadler (talk) 18:10, 21 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I find this one also very representative photo of the scope. Actually, this one gives the best idea of the urban structure of the site. The strong ranks of buildings and truncated trees as if some kind of monuments and in the background at the centre of the composition is the watch-tower... -- MrPanyGoff
