Question Is this a combination of two pictures - one of the sky and one of the ground? I like this photo, so I'm not asking in order to criticize, just to know. I'm doubting the Milky Way would appear so clearly if there were strong enough moonlight to illuminate the ground so much. I looked at the sky almost every night except in the monsoon season when I used to live in rural Malaysia in the 1970s, and I remember that the Milky Way was not clearly visible on nights with a full moon. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 15:14, 12 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

At least something is off here. The timestamp is for 06:02:54 on 3 Feb 2017. On that day and location the sunrise was at 06:12. The moon, a waxing cresent didn't rise until 12:22 PM. The camera settings could be off, the stones could be lit by a torchlight or the rising sun but the sky hardly looked like this ten minutes before sunrise. --Cart (talk) 23:25, 12 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It's a common trick to lit the ground (I do the same here and it's actually two friends lightpainting me with head torches). I also checked the sky and it looks like one could have shot this from Bolivia at that date. And it was before sunrise from my checkings. I know it sounds odd to say when considering a photo of the night sky, but I think the composition would look more balanced if there were a bit more foreground.
