  •   Info We have hundreds of photos of manholes but very, very few of the hole and cover out of the street, so I'm taking a shot with this. All by me, -- Cart (talk) 23:38, 13 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  •   Oppose Too much in the shadow. The light drains attention toward the uninteresting grass. This composition could have worked maybe with a better lighted subject -- Basile Morin (talk) 01:48, 14 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  •   Support because this is the only way you can have a lot of artifacts in the picture and still have a credible nomination.   Although I do think Basile has a point that a slightly higher angle of the sun would give you even better texture. •   Support - It's a very interesting assemblage of objects, it's interesting to move my eyes around them, and sometimes, you just have to take the opportunity to get a shot that won't present itself in any other kind of light. This is a photograph of found objects, opportunistically shot in situ. Anyway, I disagree that the light on the grass spoils anything. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 06:05, 14 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  •   weak Hmmm, doesn't really work for me, sorry. On the one side, there's the lighting (per Basile Morin). On the other, I'd generally prefer a way more radical approach, i.e. an image concentrating on selected, abstract details (cf. note, but please don't crop). Any chance you can retake the pic? --Martin Falbisoner (talk) 06:28, 14 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Sorry, Ikan is right that this was an opportunistic photo. This was during the road works here and the pile was there one day and gone the next. I like having the whole pile in the shot with all the shapes it presents. The low raking light helps enhance the outlines of the covers, I'm not that sure a higher angle of the sun would have made the pile this interesting. I also like the contrast between the fresh sunlit spring grass and the old tired darker rusty object. --Cart (talk) 08:50, 14 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
