Info With its decorative Italianate interior inspired by the work of Roman sculptors such as Luigi Fontana, St Mary le Strand is one of London's most unusual and interesting churches (still more for being located in the middle of a traffic island). Constructed between 1714 and 1724, its Baroque styling and plastered ceiling were highly controversial for an English church.
