It is very difficult to decide, because it is for a great part a matter of taste. As for me, I do not like this one (esthetically), I prefer the one of Donetsk by User:Butko, or this from Erfurt by User:Jøra, but I could not explain why, as they are different so much...--Jebulon (talk) 09:19, 15 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, the Donetsk one looks much more appealing to me, too. But I'm not contesting for beauty.
Public Menorahs aren't a traditional Chanukkah observance. Placing a giant menorah on a public, non-religious place and inviting gojim to a lighting party is rather a newfangled custom of the Chabad movement.
I think this image gives the best idea of the event.
(Unfortunately, I was late for the party in that year. Since then, they've moved from the castle square to the market square, on a constrained place between Marché de Noël and Metro construction. No good pictures possible any more.)
