English: Sgt. Keith Fosmire, a team leader assigned to Company B, 2nd Battalion, 4th Infantry Regiment, attached to the 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Multi-National Division - Baghdad, patrols Doura's industrial commercial 5th Street and surrounding areas during a combined security patrol on April 5 with Iraqi army soldiers from the 3rd Bn., 9th Bde., 3rd IA Div. to provide stability and security for the approximately 1.6 million people in the Rashid district of southern Baghdad. The Soldiers of the 2nd Bn., 4th Inf. Regt., is part of the 4th BCT, 10th Mountain Div., is scheduled to complete its 14-month deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom early next year, returning to home station at Fort Polk, La. The Soldiers of the "Warriors" Bn., currently attached to the 1st BCT, 4th Inf. Div., MND-B, partnered with Iraqi Army, National Police and Iraqi Police to serve and protect the Doura community, an area once reputed as an insurgent stronghold in Baghdad. The battalion worked to teach, coach, mentor and train the ISF to transition into the lead for security operations in southern Baghdad. |
