0124B1 Roman Copper Alloy brooch
Description
English: Roman copper alloy knee derivitive brooch, 22mm long and 17mm wide. The brooch has a rectangular shaped head with an incised border? which is semi-cylindrical in section, this conceals a spring of 10 coils. The bow consists of a thin plate c.2mm wide, which bulges to an almost circular form where it turns to form the 'knee' it is set at right angles to the head so this can only be viewed from the side. It has snapped off just below the turn.
