Title
04/348 Unidentified object
Description
English: An object similar to a finger ring but with a curious method of attachment.
The object comprises a flat strip bent to form a semi-circle. The central part is expanded in a similar fashion to a finger ring and supports a separate circular hollow 'bezel' which is secured by a rivet, visible through a break, and which has a central well. One end of the object is turned back on itself and bifurcates to form a fork and originally appears to have held a pin to secure a hinged fitting (?now missing). The other terminal (now a separate piece)forms a tongue in which there is a small circular aperture. There are traces of gilding around the 'bezel'.
