Title
1502 Roman key terminal.JPG
Description
English: Cast copper alloy key fragment length 23mm, width 34mm, thickness 9mm, weight 19.59g. This is the end of the key, which has a circular terminal that has a dished centre, the terminal is flanked by a curved semicircular arm, resulting in a fleur-de-lis style terminal. A small section of the shank remains at the base of the foliage 5mm long, this has been truncated and is an old break.

The condition is very poor, corrosion has stropped the whole surface resulting in a pitted light green layer.

This artefact dates to the Roman Period.
