Description |
English: Lead alloy seal matrix length 27mm, width 19mm, thickness 8mm, weight 12.35g. The seal is oval shaped in plan there is an eight petalled flower, the diagonal petals are half the size as the horizontal and the vertical petals. The inscription reads S’TOMIS L EPEG which translates as Tomas. The reverse of the seal has a central ridge running down the centre one end of which is expanded in to a semicircular lug, this normally would have a hold in the centre and would have acted as a suspension loop.
This artefact dates to the 14th century. |
