Title
2007 T71 Medieval brooch
Description
English: A Medieval brooch, roughly oval in shape and tapering to a point which terminates in two joined hands. The pin is missing. The reverse of the frame is inscribed with a repeated sequence of letters, reading clockwise from where the pin would have been attached:
IOV - VIOVIOVIO

The significance of this is unclear.

The brooch is silver-gilt and dates from the fourteenth century (see TAR 1998-99 No. 155 Medieval silver-gilt brooch from mid-Norfolk).
