Title
2008 T236 Post Medieval dress fitting
Description
English: Post Medieval silver dress fitting: Sub-triangular with a rectangular loop, and three circular loops off of each angle. There is a small triangular notch on the edge of the main body facing the rectangular loop. The main body is slightly domed, and the reverse is hollow.

British Museum report:

Silver dress- fitting, cast in one plane. Triangular with a raised heart-shaped element at the centre and three loops and attachment bar radiating from it.

16th Century. Interesting in that it is cast, not made up from separate elements cut from sheet or cast separately, like almost all other examples reported through the Treasure Act.

As such, due to its age and precious metal content, this object qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996.
