Title
2011 T694 Undiagnostic gold fragment
Description
English: Undiagnostic gold fragment. A piece of thick wire, or rod, of circular section except where chopped at each end. The cutting has given the edges a wedge-like profile.

Dimensions:

  • Weight: 1.6g
  • Length: 30.04mm
  • Diameter: 2.42mm

Discussion: The object has been examined by Ben Roberts, Curator of European Bronze Age at the British Museum, who determined that the fragment is undiagnostic in nature.

Due to the undiagnostic nature of the find it cannot be securely dated to pre-1711 and as such falls outside the provisions of the Treasure Act 1996.
