Deutsch: Kath. Pfarrkirche St. Martin in Bamberg. Der Hochaltar mit seiner reich gestalteten, dreigliedrigen Architektur aus rotem Stuckmarmor wurde 1701 von Giovanni Battista Brenno aus Mendrisio geschaffen. Das Altarbild „Tod des hl. Martin“ wurde von Sebastian Reinhardt um 1712 nach einem Vorbild von Peter Paul Rubens geschaffen. Der klassizistische Kuppeltabernakel von Materno Bossi wurde erst 1792 eingefügt. Die von Engeln gehaltene Kartusche über dem Altarbild zeigt das Wappen des bei der Fertigstellung der Kirche regierenden Fürstbischofs Lothar Franz von Schönborn. |
