Title |
227 BERK-E1DFB8: "For Get Me Not" Thimble |
||
Description |
English: An incomplete silver thimble with applied decoration dating to the modern period. The upper portion of the thimble is now broken and much of it has been folded over, creating a secondary lid however this does not appear purposeful. Enough of the pitted area survives to show the pits are uniform in both shape and setting, showing that the thimble is machine made. A panel just above the rope-work rim has the words " FORGET ME NOT " with a quatrefoil between each word in rasied lettering. Probably 19th century in date and therefore not Treasure. |
