53C727 early post medieval buckle
Description
English: Early post medieval copper alloy rectangular buckle, 41mm long, 22mm wide and 2mm wide. The buckle weighs 5.31 grams and has a dark brown patina. The buckle is symmetrical and has an integral pin bar, with slight rounded protrusions at its terminal. Each end of the buckle has prominant triangular protrusions, 7mm deep. There is no surface decoration and it has a slight bevelling on its upper surface. It matches 512 in Whitehead's Buckles and dates to 1570-1700.
