Description
English: Roman copper alloy ring key, 22mm in diameter and 20mm wide. The object weighs 8.94 grams and has a good, brown patina. The object consists of a finger ring 22mm in diameter and 4mm wide. To this is attached a key which consists of a short tube, 15mm long protruding from the ring which has a rectangular head attached, 20mm long and 9mm wide. The working part of the key has two notches, 5mm long and 2mm wide, cut out of it, one very close to the shaft and another in the centre, cut from the other side. The outer edge has a small rectangular section cut away. One surface of the key is decorated with triangular notches cut into its edge. The ring has broken just next to the keys shaft, but is otherwise in good condition.
