Description
English: 5 Lithic implements
 
1; Miscellaneous retouched piece, length 34mm width 31mm, thickness 6mm. Bulb of percussion on the top of the ventral, one arise down the right side of the dorsal. blade on the right side with direct stepped, short retouch. The left side has been retouched to create an awl, the retouch is inverse, stepped, semi-abrupt, below the awl is a crescent scraper. Light grey patina with orange and darker grey patches. Date Bronze Age.
2, Core rejuvenation flake, length 36mm, width 20mm, thickness 7mm. Multiple narrow flake scars on the dorsal and the top edge, striking platform on the top, concave ventral with no bulb of percussion. 5mm long notch in the left side, short, direct retouch. Brown flint with darker patches. Date possibly Neolithic.
3, Core rejuvenation flake, length 19mm, width 21mm, thickness 6mm. Multiple narrow flake scars on the dorsal, multiple striking platforms on the top. The ventral is covered by flaking scars. Notch in the top left side, direct, short, semi-abrupt retouch. Dark brown flint with grey patches. Date prehistoric.
4, Knife, length 26mm, width 15mm, thickness 7mm. One arise on the dorsal, bulb on the ventral is obscured by flaking scars. Bifacial retouch down the right side and along the bottom, this is stepped and long. Mottled grey and cream patina, the retouch has removed the patina exposing brown flint. The original tool probably date to the Neolithic whilst the retouch is probably bronze Age or Late Iron Age.
5, Truncated blade, length 27mm, width 13mm, thickness 7mm. One arise off centre on the dorsal, 50% of the surface is covered by cortex. The bulb of percussion is missing from the ventral, there are nicks in the blade which is probably as a result of use. Broken at both ends. Mottled blue and cream patina. Date Neolithic.
