8; post medieval buckle
Description
English: A cast, copper alloy, double looped trapezoidal buckle, dating from c.1620-1680. The buckle has tri-lobed ends with an engraved line along the outer edge and a transverse groove on the outer edge of each loop. There is a lobed protrusion on each end of the strap bar. The pin is missing. The buckle has a light green patina. It is 34.5mm long, 22.9mm wide and 2.4mm thick. It weighs 5.04gm Reference: Whitehead, Buckles 1250-1800, p.84, No.524.
