Description |
English: Copper alloy buckle plate length 25mm, width 15mm, thickness 3mm. Plain rectangular plate with two rivet holes at the attachment end. The forward edge has two rectangular arms that are bent back on themselves, these would wrap around the strap bar of the buckle, the strap bar of the buckle is still in place, the arms terminate in a second rectangular plate that is attached to the back of the first. These types of buckle plate are dated from the late Roman Period to the end of the Medieval Period 300-1540 |
